Raging bulls! Trump slams ‘total loser’ Robert De Niro and blasts his acting after star ranted that speech blasting former president was cut from award show teleprompter
Former President Donald Trump called actor Robert De Niro a “total loser” after the legendary actor reignited his feud with Trump in a speech De Niro claimed was censored at the Gotham Awards.
De Niro was furious after he claimed part of his speech was edited because it contained a number of barbs towards the former president.
The 80-year-old Taxi Driver star gave his full speech and then criticized Apple, the award’s organizer, for removing the speech.
Trump, 77, responded to the incident on his Truth Social platform, viewing the incident as confirmation that the “Raging Bull” star had lost.
“Robert De Niro, whose acting talents have diminished greatly and his reputation is now in tatters, should even use a teleprompter due to his obscene and disgusting language, so disrespectful to our country,” Trump wrote.

“It has become unwatchable both as a movie and because of the FOOLS who destroyed the Oscars, turning it from one of the best shows in the country to a low ratings afterthought,” he added.
“De Niro should focus on his life, which is a mess, and not on the lives of others. He has become a complete loser, and the world is watching, waiting and laughing!
The two-time Oscar winner has been an outspoken critic of the former president, ramping up his barbs ahead of the 2016 election.
Last month, he sent a statement to be read in his absence at The New Republic’s Stop Trump summit.
He attended the glittering awards ceremony to give a speech. It’s a tribute to the critically acclaimed Western crime epic Killers of the Flower Moon, directed by his longtime friend and collaborator Martin Scorsese.
De Niro was there to accept the Gotham Historic Icon Award and Tribute to the Creator Award on behalf of the film, and appeared at the event with his co-stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone.
But at one point, the veteran actor faltered during his performance before continuing to explain his confusion.
Out of his element: Robert De Niro, 80, made a mistake and looked confused after part of his anti-Trump speech was allegedly edited without his knowledge at the 2023 Gotham Awards on Monday.
“I just want to say one thing,” De Niro said. “The beginning of my speech was edited, cut out, and I didn’t know about it. And I want to read this before I start speaking.
“The beginning of my speech was edited, cut out, and I didn’t know about it. And I want to read it,” he said.
“History is no longer history. The truth is not the truth. Even facts are replaced by alternative facts and driven by conspiracy theories and monstrosities,” he said, delving into his earlier remarks.
“In Florida, young students are taught that slaves are taught skills that can be used for their personal gain,” De Niro continued. “The entertainment industry is not immune to this festering disease.
He also referenced a racist statement from a 1971 Playboy interview with John Wayne.
“Duke John Wayne famously said of the Native Americans, “I don’t think we did wrong in taking this great country from them. There were huge numbers of people who needed new land, and the Indians were selfishly trying to keep it for themselves.”
“Lies have become another tool in the charlatan’s arsenal. The former president lied to us more than 30,000 times during his four years in office.
“And he maintains the momentum of his current campaign of retaliation. But in all his lies, he cannot hide his soul,” De Niro continued.
“He attacks the weak, destroys nature’s gifts, and shows disrespect, such as using Pocahontas as an insult.”
The Hollywood actor attended the event with his girlfriend Tiffany Chen and the couple was spotted together.
De Niro paid tribute to his new film Killers of the Flower Moon (pictured) and accepted the Gotham Historic Icon Award and the Creator Tribute Award on his behalf.
He concluded by criticizing the Gotham Awards and Apple, the film’s producer, for apparently censoring his remarks.
Instead of ending with a typical expression of gratitude, he said, “I I don’t really want to thank them for what they did.
“How dare they even do this? But now I’ll go accept the award.”
The speech drew enthusiastic applause and awkward laughter from the audience.
His appearance at the event came just weeks after he was ordered to pay $1.2 million in compensation to his former assistant in a gender discrimination lawsuit.
While the jury found De Niro was not personally responsible for the abuse, it said his company, Canal Productions, engaged in gender discrimination and harassment of Graham’s former assistant Chase Robinson and must pay her two payments totaling $632,142.
De Niro was accused of bullying Chase Robinson and was called a creep by a former employee for asking for a back scratch.
During his testimony, he exploded, shouting, “Shame on you, Chase Robinson,” after denying he was an abusive boss.
De Niro has been locked in lawsuits with Robinson since she left the company in April 2019.
Both he and his girlfriend Tiffany Chen took the stand during the weeks-long trial.
The couple attended the awards ceremony last night and recently revealed they had welcomed their long-awaited baby – De Niro’s seventh child.
