Red alert! Queen Letizia stuns in scarlet power suit as she attends opening of Picasso exhibition with King Felipe in Madrid
Queen Letizia of Spain looked glamorous as she attended the opening of a Picasso exhibition in Madrid this afternoon.
The 51-year-old royal appeared in a red suit at the Reina Sofia National Arts Center with her 55-year-old husband King Felipe.
The stylish two-piece suit for the mother of two featured delicate shoulder pads and lightweight tortoiseshell buttons on the sleeves and jacket.
Laetitia paired her red jacket with an oyster-colored silk blouse with little ruffles around the neckline and completed her chic ensemble with pink high heels.

Taking a leaf out of the Princess of Wales’s book, Letitia wore her glossy brown hair in loose waves for the occasion.
The Spanish royal kept her jewelry minimalist, opting for an elegant pair of diamond earrings.
Moreover, the Spanish queen wore her signature bronze smoky eye and finished off her look with nude lipstick.
Meanwhile, King Felipe looked dapper in a gray pinstripe suit and red tie that perfectly complemented his wife’s outfit.
The exhibition officially opens tomorrow at the Reina Sofia National Center for the Arts and will run until March 2024.
The National Museum has been associated with the royal family since its opening in 1992 and was named after King Philip’s mother Sophia.
It’s been an exceptionally busy few months for the royal couple, who squeezed in a tour of Denmark and saw their 18-year-old daughter Princess Leonor swear allegiance to the throne.
The Queen has humble beginnings. Letizia was born on September 15, 1972 in Oviedo, northern Spain. She grew up in a middle class family and attended public school.

While her mother, Maria Rodriguez, was a nurse, Letizia followed in the footsteps of her father, Jesus José Ortiz Alvarez, and stepmother Ana Togores, who are both journalists and studied communications at the University of Madrid.
She then obtained a master’s degree in broadcast journalism and, after working for the Asturian daily La Nueva España, went on to work for ABC, a popular national newspaper with the third largest circulation in Spain.
This was followed by work for the Spanish news agency EFE, and then, moving to Guadalajara in Mexico, she began working for the local newspaper Siglo 21.
Returning to Spain a year later, she worked for the Spanish version of Bloomberg, a news channel and agency specializing in economics, before moving to CNN+.
Before meeting Felipe from Spain, Letizia was married to school literature teacher Alonso Guerrero Perez, who was nine years older than her.

The couple married in 1998 after a ten-year romance. The couple met when the future Spanish queen was only 16 years old.
They married in a civil ceremony in Almendralejo, Badajoz, but divorced the following year.
By the time she met her future husband Felipe in 2002, Letizia was working for the popular television channel 24 Horas, where, in addition to presenting the popular evening newscast Telediario 2, she reported on a wide range of breaking news.
As a news anchor, she reported live from Ground Zero after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
She met Prince Felipe the following year at the site of an oil spill in Northern Spain. A year after the first meeting with Felipe, Letizia quit her job, and a few days later their engagement was announced.
Letizia’s marriage to Felipe in Madrid in 2004 sparked a surge of support for the royal family, and her habit of endorsing brands such as Zara proved popular. She and Felipe had two daughters: Leonor in 2005 and Sofia in 2007.
