Remains of killed teen Tylee Ryan will be released to her family four years after her murder by ‘doomsday mom’ Lori Vallow as stepfather Chad Daybell awaits trial for his role in her death

The remains of murdered teenager Tylee Ryan will be released to her family four years after she was killed by her “Doomsday mum” Lori Vallow.

The 16-year-old girl and her seven-year-old brother JJ went missing in September 2019 and their bodies were discovered in her stepfather’s backyard in June 2020.

Their mother, Vallow, was found guilty of their murders in May, as well as of plotting to kill her husband Chad Daybell’s ex-wife, Tammy. Daybell is also due to stand trial for the murders of the children in April 2024.

An Idaho judge ruled Thursday that Tylee’s remains will be allowed to be released to her family. “The body of Tylee Ryan is hereby ordered to be released to her next of kin,” District Judge Stephen Boyce said.

It comes after the remains of her brother JJ were released to relatives in October. Their bodies have been in the custody of the state of Idaho since the grisly discovery.

The order to release Tylee’s body means she will now have the opportunity to be buried by her family.

Daybell was also charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of the young children, and a judge ruled Tuesday that he could face the death penalty as punishment if convicted.

On Nov. 9, his legal team filed two motions in Fremont County asking that the death penalty be removed as a possible sentence. But both versions were rejected by the judge presiding over the case.

Vallow was found guilty of killing her two children in May as part of a sickening religious conspiracy.

On December 7, she appeared in court again to face two charges of plotting to kill her relatives as she lapsed into violent religious fanaticism.

The Doomsday Cult mother is accused of conspiring with her brother Alex Cox to kill her husband Charles Vallow in July 2019 and planning the murder of her niece’s husband Brandon Boudreaux.

Last week, Vallow was extradited from Idaho to Arizona to face charges. She was charged in the June 2021 death of Vallow and the planned murder of Boudreau in February 2022.

The alleged plans to kill her relatives arose as Vallow became obsessed with the impending apocalypse and her whirlwind marriage to late 2019 author Chad Daybell.

Vallow appeared only briefly, handcuffed and wearing an orange prison jumpsuit, as she gave her name and admitted the charges against her.

JJ's remains were released to relatives in October. Since the grisly discovery, their bodies have been taken into protective custody in Idaho.

She was booked into the Maricopa County Jail last week after being extradited, where she is being held without bond.

Additional charges were filed against her after a grand jury indicted Vallow in 2021 in connection with the murder of Charles, who Cox fatally shot in her Arizona home.

Cox, who died of natural causes in December 2019, insisted he shot Charles in self-defense, but prosecutors say it was planned because the siblings both believed in the apocalypse.

It is alleged that Vallow and Cox, both devout Mormons, were convinced that the end of times was imminent and their relatives had become obsessed with zombies and believed they could save them by killing them.

Prosecutors say religious fanaticism was the pretext used by the family to carry out the killings.

The story also mentions Vallow’s alleged plan to kill her niece’s husband, Brandon Boudreaux, who was shot but missed in a drive-by shooting in October 2019, shortly after JJ and Tylee were last seen alive.

Boudreau reportedly told investigators at the time that he believed Cox was driving, and it is alleged that Cox conspired with Laurie to kill Boudreau and Charles Vallow because they expressed concern about the religious extremism sweeping their family.
