Ron DeSantis’ campaign trolls Nikki Haley by offering donors a ticket to see ‘her future home the vice president’s residence’ if she is ‘too coward’ to show up to Iowa debate

Ron DeSantis is offering two of his supporters a trip to New York or Washington, D.C. as an alternative to winning debate tickets as the campaign criticizes Nikki Haley for refusing to commit to showing up for the head-to-head showdown.

As with previous debates, DeSantis’ campaign is offering donors a chance to win two tickets to next month’s Iowa debate, which include airfare, hotel rooms and a meeting.

But this time, in the person of former UN Ambassador Haley, the campaign is offering alternatives if it is “too cowardly to debate Gov. DeSantis one-on-one,” according to lottery terms obtained by DailyMail.com.

The Republican National Committee (RNC), after hosting four GOP presidential primary debates since August, is handing over the reins and allowing others to run the primaries.

CNN will carry debates in Iowa ahead of the Jan. 15 caucuses and in New Hampshire ahead of the Jan. 23 primary. For now, DeSantis is the only candidate who is fully committed to the next debate.

Haley has been cagey about the prospect of a one-on-one showdown with DeSantis before Iowa, but appears open to debate if others take the stage.

“Since the RNC left the debate, there have been many new proposals,” said Haley spokeswoman Olivia Perez-Cubas. told Axios. “We look forward to the Iowa debate and continuing to show voters why Nikki is the best candidate to remove Joe Biden and save our country. Donald Trump should be in this debate.”

DeSantis spokesman Brian Griffin told DailyMail.com in a statement: “In the last Republican primary debate, (DeSantis) forced Nikki Haley into the background, reminding voters that she has conceded every significant fight as a leader: from taxes to women’s protections. and children in China.”

“After this loss, it is no wonder why Haley has not confirmed that she will join Ron DeSantis on the debate stage in Iowa and New Hampshire next month,” Griffin added.

The winner of the DeSantis sweepstakes will receive $1,500 toward two airfare to Des Moines, Iowa, two nights of hotel accommodations and two tickets to a debate, as well as a meeting with Florida Gov. DeSantis and Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis.

If the Jan. 10 debate is canceled due to Haley’s refusal to attend, the DeSantis campaign will propose alternative trips that directly troll his 2024 rival.

One option is to head to New York to tour the United Nations, where, as former President Donald Trump’s former ambassador to the United Nations, Haley previously worked.

The campaign also suggests that Haley is simply vying to become Trump’s No. 2 candidate for 2024, offering donors the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., to see the vice president’s residence.

Under certain conditions, the campaign writes, winners can choose to receive “up to $1,500 worth of round-trip airfare to Washington, D.C., and a hotel stay so the winner can see the Naval Observatory, the new home Nikki wants.”

The third option is for the winners to receive airfare and accommodations near the data warehouse “so you can see how Nikki would store all your data in the unlikely event that she becomes president”, in response to her previous suggestion that social media companies networks stored user data and prevented people from anonymously posting messages online.

If none of these options help the winner, they can simply postpone their winnings until the next debate, if there is one.

In the draw terms and conditions obtained by DailyMail.com, the campaign outlines which alternatives winners can choose from. “(S)if the debate does not take place because Nikki Haley is too cowardly to argue with Governor DeSantis one-on-one, an alternative prize will be provided to the winner.”

Haley has not yet said whether she will participate in the CNN debate in Des Moines, Iowa, on Jan. 10 — just five days before the caucuses. It’s likely DeSantis and Haley may be the only ones able to qualify.

With less than five weeks until the Iowa caucuses, Republicans have little time to close the gap on distant front-runner Trump, who bowed out of the debate but maintained a significant lead.

DeSantis, Haley, biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie qualified for the debate in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, last week.

It’s likely that DeSantis and Haley could be the only ones able to qualify for the next debate, as participants must score at least 10 percent in three separate national or Iowa polls endorsed by CNN.
