After Spanish golfer Jon Rahm announced his shock move to LIV Golf, it was revealed that he may be taking one of his Ryder Cup teammates with him.

Rahm, this year’s Masters champion and a key contributor to Team Europe’s Ryder Cup victory in Rome, recently agreed to join the Saudi-backed league in a whopping $500 million deal.

But now that he is there, there are reports that he may be bringing someone from the British Isles with him.

Reports from Golf WRX indicate that English golfer Tyrrell Hatton could be the next in a stream of players leaving the PGA Tour.

Rahm is set to form a new team, LIV, and reports say Hatton could join him.

Another name in contention is American star Tony Finau, who could leave to either join a team or form his own.

Hutton played for Team Europe in the Ryder Cup in 2018 and 2023. The Englishman posted a 3-0-1 record at the Marco Simone Golf Club in Rome last fall.

What’s notable about this rumor is that Hutton signed with the now-delayed TGL league and was drafted into Boston Common Golf along with Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley and Adam Scott.

TGL’s inaugural season will be delayed a year after inclement weather damaged the still-under-construction indoor stadium that will host games in south Florida.

When Rahm’s deal was announced, there were rumors that he might join the Fireballs GC team, which is managed by Spaniard Sergio Garcia and includes Spanish-speaking golfers Abraham Ancer, Carlos Ortiz and Eugenio Chacarra.

But instead, Ram will form his own team and receive a stake in the ownership as part of the deal.

It is unknown who will be part of Ram’s team and what the team will be called.

Rama seems to have been drawn to the team aspect of LIV and hopes he can help grow the sport in his native Spain.

Reports suggest Tyrrell Hatton could sign with Rama's LIV Golf team.

“I don’t think it’s talked about enough. I think you have some of the best players in the world who are now also leaders of their teams, partners of the league in a huge business that is global and ever-growing,” Rahm said.

“So, this is an aspect of the game that I noticed myself, and now it has become a reality. I can’t wait to get involved, learn more and hopefully grow my team and my brand.

He continued: “I myself, growing up as a big Athletic Bilbao fan, realized that it had some appeal, didn’t it?

“A lot more than I thought, even in golf. It’s something I’m passionate about and something I can hopefully learn and improve on.”
