The couple met while they were both playing for rival US League clubs in 2019.

“I think we were chatting about a clothing brand one day and then things went south,” Kerr said of the early days of their relationship.

“It’s Harry, Meghan and us.”

The spotlight on Kerr has intensified since Australia’s magical trip to the World Cup. She said she appreciates it when fans reach out to her with kind words, but admits that the extra media attention was an aspect she had to adjust to.

“What’s new for Matilda and me is that people now talk about our personal lives, the kind of house we bought or how much money we make,” she said.

“And these (stories) are usually far from reality—they don’t correspond to who I am or the truth.”

“It really sucks because it was such a f***ing time for me and such an amazing time for Christy,” she added.

“It’s so hard to want someone to lose when you love them so much.”
