Susan Sarandon suffered another walkout after being dropped by her production company following her anti-Jewish speech at a pro-Palestinian rally in New York.

The production company that considered Sarandon for the short film told Page Six that it no longer plans to work with the Academy Award winner.

“As a company, PTO Films would like to make it clear that the views of Susan Sarandon do not reflect the views of our organization,” David Barroso, co-founder of the independent film company, told the publication.

“We were considering her role in the short film, but due to her recent statements, we decided to look at other options,” he told Page Six.

Sarandon was set to appear in the short film “Slipping Away,” which until this weekend appeared as part of her “upcoming” projects on IMBD.

The studio’s decision comes just weeks after the 77-year-old Oscar-winning actress was fired by her Hollywood representative United Talent Agency, which is run by Jewish CEO Jeremy Zimmer, who has represented Sarandon since 2014.

Last Friday, Sarandon apologized for saying Jews would “get a taste of what it’s like to be Muslim” amid the war with Hamas.

Sarandon’s remarks at a pro-Palestinian rally on Nov. 17 in New York sparked widespread outrage, with critics saying they ignored centuries of prejudice and anti-Semitism the Jewish community has endured.

She said Friday that her remarks last month were a “terrible mistake.”

“This formulation was a terrible mistake because it implies that Jews were not persecuted until recently, when in fact the opposite is true,” she said.

She said the rally was intended to “highlight the urgent humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and call for a ceasefire” and said she had not planned to speak at the meeting but was invited to speak to the crowd.

“Intent on expressing my concern about the rise in hate crimes, I said that American Jews, being the targets of growing anti-Semitic hatred, “will get a taste of what it means to be a Muslim in this country that is so often subjected to violence.”

Sarandon posted her apology on Instagram Friday evening.

Sarandon said her words ignored “centuries of oppression and genocide in Europe” as well as recent atrocities such as the attack on the Tree of Life synagogue, which killed 11 people in Pittsburgh in October 2018, the worst attack on Jewish community in modern US history. .

Sarandon added: “I deeply regret that I minimized this reality and hurt people with this comment.

“My intention was to show solidarity in the fight against bigotry of all kinds, and I regret that I was unable to do so.”

Following the October 7 Hamas attack that killed 1,200 Israelis and the Gaza crackdown that killed 15,000 Palestinians, Sarandon attended several rallies in New York.

The veteran left-winger was filmed joining in a chant of “from the river to the sea,” a battle cry used by both pro-Palestinian activists and Hamas that is widely seen as an anti-Semitic call for the destruction of Israel.
