Tatum O’Neal shared a touching tribute to her father Ryan O’Neal on the day of his passing.
The 60-year-old actress said she was feeling “great grief” after it was announced earlier on Friday that her father had died aged 82.
In a statement released PeopleShe said her ex-father “meant the world to her” and she’s grateful they “ended up on such a good relationship.”
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of my father,” she began. “He meant the world to me.
“I loved him very much and I know he loves me too,” she continued. “I will miss him forever and I am very lucky that we ended on such good terms.”

The father-daughter duo previously starred together in the 1973 comedy-drama film Paper Moon as leads Moze and Addie.
At the age of 10, she became the youngest person to win an Academy Award, as well as a Golden Globe Award for her stellar performance in the role.
Earlier in the day, her brother Patrick O’Neal announced his father’s death and posted the tragic news on Instagram.
The 56-year-old sports broadcaster said their “Hollywood legend” father “passed away peacefully” surrounded by his “loving team.”
