The Squad doubles down on claims Israel IS committing genocide in Gaza and the IDF is targeting civilians: Rashida Tlaib says critics are ‘weaponizing’ anti-Semitism against her
Members of the Squad joined Doctors Without Borders on Capitol Hill to once again call for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Tlaib criticized her critics, saying that “some people use anti-Semitism as a weapon to silence voices.” All this needs to stop.”
Bush, a former nurse, emphasized her belief that the events taking place in the Gaza Strip constitute “war crimes” and called for an “immediate and permanent ceasefire.”
“Let me make it clear what’s going on. These are war crimes,” Bush said.

In November, Bush colleague Tlaib came under fire after she accused Biden of genocide and demanded a ceasefire, threatening consequences for the 2024 elections.
“An attack on civilians is a war crime, an attack on medical facilities is a war crime, starvation and cutting off the supply of water and electricity is a war crime.
“The collective punishment of 2.3 million people is a war crime, and we refuse to remain silent,” she said, as her Tlaib and Minn nodded in agreement.
Bush said their efforts Thursday were to “convince lawmakers to act collectively to stop the killing, stop the hunger and the displacement of Palestinian men, women and children.”
The former nurse said all doctors make a promise – “it’s a promise to care for all people without limits, limits or boundaries,” she said.
Bush said the “promise” to save lives has no boundaries or limitations, and stressed that it applies to everyone, regardless of racial religion or nationality.
The Democrat said the best way to honor these doctors and health care workers working in terrible conditions is to end the violence.
“When we hear the rhetoric of genocide, when we witness devastation and mass murder, when we fund bombs being dropped, when we willfully ignore suffering, we allow the people we represent to be complicit in mass atrocities,” Bush said.

Tlaib posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) showing pro-Palestinian marches across the country and harrowing footage of the Middle East conflict as she made the comments.
Biden’s statement that the US supports Israel and opposes the ceasefire is coupled with heartbreaking imagery as she tells him that “the majority of the American people are not with you on this issue.”

Scenes from a video Tlaib posted in November also included Ohio protesters chanting “No peace on stolen land!” Illinois: “Free!” For free! Palestine!” and Michigan “From River to Sea.”
The video ended with Tlaib saying, “We will remember in 2024,” before the words “Joe Biden supported the geocide of the Palestinian people” appeared on the screen.
The Posse member faced intense backlash for her post, with people accusing her of anti-Semitism and disputing her statements.
Tlaib is a member of “The Squad,” an informal group of eight Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives who are known as some of the most progressive and left-leaning members of the U.S. Congress.
Tlaib, who is of Palestinian descent, has been one of the loudest voices in Congress in support of a full ceasefire in the Mideast conflict and has spoken openly about the conflict for a number of years.
More than a dozen House Democrats, including Tlaib, signed a resolution supporting the ceasefire in October.
