Tony Armstrong reveals things are getting serious with his new girlfriend Rona – as he breaks his silence on their romance with Daily Mail Australia at TikTok Awards
Tony Armstrong has opened up about his new romance with musician Rhona Glynn-McDonald after announcing their relationship on Instagram last week.
The ABC New Breakfast sports presenter told Daily Mail Australia at the 2023 TikTok Awards that things were getting serious between the couple and he was glad their relationship was supported by his fans and followers.
“It’s just nice that people know about it now,” Tony, 34, said.
“We’ve been together for a while now. I’m happy. (Life) has been good lately.”
Armstrong also talked about his plans to spend Christmas and New Year’s with Rona and their families.

“It’s just nice that people know about it now,” Tony, 34, told Daily Mail Australia at the TikTok Awards on Wednesday night.
“I’m going to be going away with my girlfriend and our families, so it should be great. And I just won’t do anything.”
“Sit on my ass and do nothing,” he added.
Although Armstrong remained silent about his Christmas gift to Ron, his excitement was evident.
“We’ve been together for a while now. I’m happy that (life) has been good lately,” he said.
When asked about dating apps, Armstrong laughed and noted that he hadn’t used them in a while.
“I thought about it, but I can’t tell you because then she’d know you’re trying to seize the moment,” he laughed.
Looking back on the past year, Armstrong downplayed the concept of being busy, instead focusing on the positive steps everyone was making.
His approach to life is casual but passionate: “I’m a red wine drinker, but I love Negronis.” I love Negronis. Actually, lately I’ve been getting into Moscow mules.”
The holiday season holds a special place for the couple, as Armstrong revealed plans to spend Christmas and New Year’s with Rona and their families.
Armstrong, known for his charismatic presence, shared his excitement about hosting the TikTok Awards alongside Bachelor star Abbie Chatfield and TikTok star Kat Clark.
The chemistry between Armstrong and co-host Chatfield was a theme throughout the evening.
“Abby is great. I think she’s very smart,” he raved to his co-host Abbie Chatfield. “She’s really funny and works really hard.”

“Kat (too) is great, she works really hard, she has a young family, so it’s great to be able to get together and learn different styles from different people.”
As for the future, he promised some surprises in 2024.
“I’ve been working on some things that I think will surprise some people and make them smile,” he said.
