“Too deep, Matt? Conspiracy-loving ex-footballer Le Tissier looks awkward next to a YouTuber streamer as he spins bizarre theories about Johan Cruyff, Princess Diana and JFK being alive’

Former Southampton footballer Matt Le Tissier appeared uncomfortable as he sat down with a YouTuber and floated a bizarre conspiracy theory involving Princess Diana, JFK and Johan Cruyff.

Le Tissier, 55, joined Tom Sidney Bushnell on his live stream and – despite his own quest to ‘uncover the truth’ in recent years – towards the end of their discussion, he looked surprised beyond an extraordinary claim by its host.

Bushnell floated the idea that former US President JFK and his son, Princess Diana and Cruyff – all of whom have been dead for at least six years – are secretly alive and will reappear in the coming months.

“You heard this first,” the YouTuber began. ‘I have a feeling that Johan is not gone.

‘It can upset people, it can give people a lot of hope. I believe he is not gone and he will be one who comes and shares the truth later.

‘I think there’s a whole bunch of them coming back. It is my feeling and intuition that people like Diana, JFK Jr, maybe even JFK – sounds like a strange one I know.

‘Bad ones use numbers, but in my experience, good ones also use numbers.’

Meanwhile, Le Tissier looked off into the distance and seemed to indicate that the proposal was too much for even him to agree to.

The former Premier League striker – who also won eight caps for England – has been outspoken when it comes to conspiracy theories in recent years, particularly those regarding Covid-19.

The 55-year-old was sacked from his pundit job at Sky Sports in August 2020 and later blamed his dismissal on his views on Covid-19 and refused to wear a BLM badge.

He shared anti-vaccine conspiracy theories on social media in 2021, and has since suggested they may be a link between the vaccine and football players collapsing on the field.

Earlier this month, he suggested the government was planning the 2020 shutdown to prevent people from going outside and enjoying the sunshine as he lamented the current “terrible” weather across the UK.

Li Tissier’s host wasn’t done with his outlandish claims. Bushnell tried to explain the reasoning behind his belief.

‘How about this one?’ He added. ‘5. November, Princess Diana’s return, 88 mph. 282 is 88 km/h and it has everything to do with November 5th.

“We’ll see what happens, but those are my feelings.”

‘You heard this first,’ said Le Tissier, before pointing to Bushnell and saying, ‘And if that doesn’t happen…’

Many social media users were quick to highlight the sometimes pained expression on the former Saints star’s face, while others commented on his transformation from adored footballer to fringe personality.

‘I think you can see in this clip that Le Tissier knows it’s all gone horribly wrong.’ A user on X, formerly Twitter wrote. “He just wanted someone to agree with his *** theories about covid and now he’s listening to a man talking about Johan Cruyff being in witness protection and the resurrection of Princess Diana.”

Another joked: ‘You’ve heard of the Cruyff tour. Now get ready for the return of Cruyff.’

‘What have I done? 4 years ago I told Jeff about a late equalizer at Goodison and now…” Dear oh dear,” said a third, referring to his position on the Sky Sports Soccer Saturday panel.

Another said: ‘I’ve listened to the whole thing twice and I can’t make head or tail of it. It’s all just incredibly sad.

‘Yes, Le Tissier has become a figure of fun here for many, but it is painful to watch. He’s got the polite resignation of someone in a kitchen at 5:52 looking for an excuse to get out and go to bed.’
