Former President Donald Trump called President Joe Biden ‘pretty pathetic’ and claimed Iran would not attack Israel if he remained in office.
Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee in 2024, held a news conference early Friday night after meeting at Mar-a-Lago with embattled GOP House Speaker Mike Johnson, floating that Biden could plunge the country into a ‘world war.’
The former president was asked by a journalist about the US warnings that Iran was about to attack Israel and whether he had been in contact with Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump would not reveal if he had spoken to Bibi, adding: ‘But for the president of our country to actually issue a warning that he thinks we’re going to be attacked or that they’re going to be attacked. It’s quite pathetic’.
“They wouldn’t attack Israel if I were president, I can tell you that,” he continued. “And they never did.”

‘They would not attack. Iran was unable to attack. They had no money. They were devastated, Trump added.
He claimed that Iran had amassed $221 billion — a figure the former president has used before, but the origins are unclear — to foment trouble in the Middle East, along with Iraq.
“With all that we’ve done, with all the fighting, all the deaths, look at what happened. How incompetent it all is,” Trump continued. “I don’t want to say who I talked to, but I think it’s a very, very dangerous period.’
“This is a very dangerous time in our nation, and a big reason it’s dangerous is because we have a president who is grossly incompetent,” Trump added.
Earlier in his Mar-a-Lago appearance, Trump discussed how he believed the world’s problems could spiral out of control.
‘You could end up in a world war between Russia and Ukraine and all that chaos and it’s something that should never have happened, never would have happened. What happens to Israel, on October 7, and what happens to Israel, could end in a world war, Trump said.
He went after Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee, saying, ‘We have a president who can’t put two sentences together.’
‘We have a president who can’t find the stairs from the stage. We have a president who doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing. And we could end up in a world war, Trump said.
“You know, we’ve got just a little bit less than seven months now, months before November 5th, but that’s an eternity when people are incompetent,” the former president added.
For months, he has been teasing that Biden could trigger World War III.
However, polling published Friday showed that one of Trump’s weakest attributes was his handling of foreign policy.
Forty-seven percent of Americans surveyed in an AP-NORC poll said Trump was harming U.S. foreign relations.
Israel is bracing for an Iranian attack after an April 1 attack on a building next to the Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria killed members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem issued a warning Thursday to diplomats in Israel that did not specifically mention Iran but barred them from travel.
Biden said Wednesday in the Rose Garden with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida that Iran is ‘threatening to launch a significant attack on Israel’.
‘As I told Prime Minister Netanyahu, our commitment to Israel’s security against these threats from Iran and its proxies is ironclad. Let me say that again: iron clad. We will do everything we can to protect Israel’s security,” Biden said.
On Friday, Biden reiterated that Iran should not attack Israel.
“Don’t,” he said.
