Jude Bellingham enjoyed a touching reunion with his father after recently winning the 2023 Golden Boy award, given to the top junior player.

The England and Real Madrid midfielder received an individual award at an awards ceremony in Turin, Italy, before sharing a hug with his father.

Bellingham’s parents Mark and Denise have supported Jude and younger brother Job throughout their football careers and are now based in different countries.

Jobe joined Sunderland from Birmingham in the summer, while Jude joined Real Madrid for £115 million after previously playing for Borussia Dortmund.

Their parents made the difficult decision to move individually, with Denise moving to Madrid with Jude and Mark staying in England to support Job at Sunderland.

Bellingham and his father shared a warm hug as the pair spent time together in Italy, and social media was delighted to witness the special moment for parents and children.

The 20-year-old has been a star since moving to the Spanish capital, scoring 15 goals in all competitions and breaking Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for most goals scored by a player in his first 15 games with the Spanish giants.

Jobe has been playing for Championship side Sunderland since moving to the club in the summer.

However, some on social media hilariously wondered how both parents decided who would move to Spain while the other stayed in the north-east of England.

Mail Sport’s Liverpool and Everton correspondent Lewis Steele joked: “It must have been a tense game of rock, paper, scissors to decide who lives in Madrid and who lives in Sunderland.”

Meanwhile, a Sunderland fan added online: “One brother plays for the biggest club in the world, the other plays for Real Madrid.”

Another added: “Talk about making sacrifices for your children – a mother and father not seeing each other regularly just so their children can excel at what they do.”
