Mo Salah warns Liverpool ‘can’t keep dropping points’ in title race after being held by Arsenal and Man United at Anfield… as forward claims Reds will ‘keep fighting to do better’

Liverpool striker Mo Salah says Liverpool cannot continue to drop points in the title race after drawing with Arsenal on Saturday.

Gabriel’s early goal was canceled out by Mohamed Salah’s stunning strike and despite both struggling to win, the Premier League’s two best players deservedly shared the win.

It was Liverpool’s second consecutive home draw in the Premier League, following a goalless draw with Manchester United at Anfield six days earlier.

Salah wrote on X: “We know we can’t keep losing points like this and we will keep fighting to do better.” ‘

Arsenal had restored their clear lead at the top of the Premier League by Christmas, but their wait for victory at Anfield stretched into the 12th year after a thrilling 1-1 draw allowed Liverpool to maintain momentum in the title race.

However, leading on December 25th is no guarantee of future results, and both these clubs are well aware of this; on the last six occasions the team failed to take the lead and lift the trophy from this position, this was one of them.

Jamie Carragher believes there is something wrong with Liverpool’s attacking line and has suggested Jurgen Klopp may have to sign a replacement for Luis Diaz.

He spoke after Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal, where Salah saved the day with a brilliant strike but the other strikers failed to score for the fifth game in a row.

Diaz failed to score in his seventh Premier League game on the rebound, while Darwin Nunez drew his 12th game in a row in all competitions.

Although Liverpool are still among the league’s top scorers with 37 goals from 18 matches, they have relied on Salah and their backfield players to score goals in recent weeks.

Carragher told the Gary Neville Podcast: “When you look at Liverpool’s front three, there’s something wrong with them.

“Gakpo has been here for almost 12 months and he has had outbreaks, but not enough. Diaz looks like a shadow of his former self after suffering a knee injury last season.

“I really think Diaz needs to have a good second half of the season otherwise Liverpool will be on the market on the left wing in the summer. It just feels like with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino gone they haven’t replaced them in terms of quality.”
