A fiery chef who caused a storm after he banned vegans from his restaurant is now targeting loved-up couples ahead of Valentine’s Day.

The Fyre restaurant in Perth, Australia, owned by celebrity chef John Mountain, posted a tempting Valentine’s Day offer on its social media pages – but it doesn’t apply to parties of two.

Guys are offering 25 per cent off the total bill for tables of three on the romantic getaway – and stipulated that some form of ‘photo proof’ is required to get the deal back.

However, the restaurant has not specified what the photo ID is supposed to prove.

It’s not the first time Fayre – which is run by British-born celebrity chef John Mountain – has posted something unusual and divisive on its social media accounts.

In June last year, Mr. Mountain vegans from his restaurant after a run-in with a disgruntled customer.

She complained that her ‘only option’ was the ‘vegetable dish… it was okay but not that filling… and I was shocked to see it was $32’.

“I think it’s incredibly important today that restaurants can accommodate everyone, and not being able to have actual plant-based meals shows your shortcomings as a chef,” she added.

The restaurant responded in a fiery manner, replying: ”Thank you for your negative review… You are welcome to share your good experience and I look forward to not seeing you again.

“You and all your vegan buddies can all go and enjoy your dishes somewhere else. You are now banned.’

Citing Mr Mountain’s previous ban on vegans in response to the Facebook post advertising the unusual Valentine’s discount, users took the opportunity to poke fun at the celebrity chef.

One user wrote: ‘Two’s company, three’s a crowd, but I’ll take a vegan’.

Another laughed: ‘I’ll book a table if you have vegan options’.

A third asked: ‘Is it for vegans?’

Another seemed thrilled by the offer as they wrote: ‘Yay you’re back’.
