The heartbreaking truth behind Tammy Hembrow’s engagement to Love Island Australia star Matt Zukowski
Tammy Hembrow thrilled fans on Sunday when she announced that her boyfriend, Love Island Australia star Matt Zukowski, had proposed to her after just three months of dating.
But Tammy’s big news came with a heartbreaking caveat: Matt wouldn’t be able to give her children.
Matt, 28, suffers from infertility, a condition he discovered just a few years ago.
In October he joined Back to reality podcast that talks about the heartbreak of learning his body doesn’t produce sperm.
The reality star told hosts Tuck and Selina that he’s “not embarrassed” by the reproductive issue, but admitted it does affect his approach to dating.
But news of Tammy Hembrow’s engagement to Australian Love Island star Matt Zukowski comes with a heartbreaking warning: Matt won’t be able to give his new wife-to-be any children.
“If I started dating a girl… that would be the first thing I told them. My ex, before I told her about it on the second date, I said, “Hey, like, just so you know, I can’t have kids.”
“It doesn’t bother me. I’m not ashamed of it… obviously now it will become public knowledge that I shoot blanks and all that,” he added.
The hosts then asked Matt how he found out about his fertility problem, and he stated that his ex pushed him to get tested because they “weren’t getting pregnant.”

Matt then went into detail about the testing process.
“I went and I liked this sperm, well, you know, I don’t know how to say this nicely? Yeah. I put it in the cart and checked it,” he said.
“(The doctor) called me because it’s like we’re in a lockdown phase. And he was like, “Hey Matt, just let you know, you don’t have any sperm.” And I thought, “Oh, I don’t have enough sperm.” He said, “No, you don’t have sperm.” And I was like, “Oh, crap.”
