They can allegedly be seen in on-board camera footage of the damaged Tesla, first obtained by Seven News, making their way through parked cars before turning on the keys.

The footage also allegedly showed Ms Edwards, wearing a Gucci T-shirt, driving cars.

When the couple arrived at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, they were surrounded by family and friends to avoid being filmed or photographed.

A supporter of the couple knocked the microphone out of a Seven News reporter’s hand.

A similar commotion occurred when the group left court Monday after a brief mention when supporters prevented television cameras and photographers from speaking to the couple.

The couple have yet to enter a formal plea, but their lawyer, Bruce Peters, told the court they were “keen to get to the bottom of this because of the media attention” and indicated they would plead guilty.

Prosecutors are still trying to confirm the cost of the damage under the owners’ insurance.

The matter was adjourned until January 16 for further discussion.
