The Block fans point out heartbreaking detail as Leah and Ash’s house remains unsold a month after auction: ‘They’re probably dead now’

It was a popular property that failed to sell during the Block’s dramatic auction in November.

Now fans have taken to Reddit to point out a painful detail about Leah and Ash 2’s home in Melbourne’s Hampton East, which was given away in the season finale for $2.9 million.

Viewers speculated that the goldfish the couple used to fill their backyard pond may not have been kept as the house was put up for sale.

Fans flocked to comment on the thread: “The fish in Leah and Ash’s house is probably already dead” since it was posted four days ago.

One eagle-eyed fan noted that no fish were found in the pond during inspections.

It comes after Leah and Ash showed off the fish during Front of House and Front Week, which the couple won by purchasing an $80,000 Ford Mustang Mach-E.

“There weren’t any fish on inspection so… yeah,” the fan said.

“Pretty sure the neighbors kitties would have killed them,” one fan wrote, while another commented, “Those fish died 5 minutes after they abandoned them.”

Meanwhile, another Block viewer noted that the goldfish were unlikely to survive due to the design of the pond.

“Add to this the fact that it was a shallow ‘pond’, subject to wild temperature fluctuations and no plant cover to hide from predators,” the fan wrote.

“At best, they were simply brought to the show for judging and immediately removed. In the worst case scenario, they were left there and are now probably dead.”

It comes after headlines emerged this week that Leah and Ash were staying were desperate to sell their stunning five-bedroom, four-bathroom apartment which failed to sell on The Block during the November finale.

The couple found themselves in a quandary as “nobody bought” after one buyer who was willing to pay $3.1 million for a Hampton East home pulled out last month.

And now Yahoo Lifestyle reports that interest in the retro luxury home has “fallen to an all-time low.”

A source told the publication that the longer the house is on the market, “the further the end will be in sight.”

“At this stage, a Christmas miracle is needed if they want the house to sell in 2023,” the insider said.

The insider even suggested that it’s possible that the houses for the upcoming season of The Block will go under the hammer before Leah and Ash can find a buyer.

According to the report, “House 2” is still on the market, there are no offers.

Leah and Ash’s House 2 has caused quite a stir among potential bidders ahead of The Block’s November auction.

Buyer Block’s agents predicted big things for the couple after the luxury home was listed for sale with a price guide of $2.7 million to $2.9 million.
