Meghan Markle wore chic white Heidi Merrick dress design just months after her bestie and Suits co-star Abigail Spencer opted for the same look

They share the exact same birthday.

And it seems besties Meghan Markle and Abigail Spencer are style twins too – as the Duchess of Sussex wore a stunning Heidi Merrick design just months after her former Suits co-star.

Both wore the glamorous white gown by the Californian designer – who actress Abigail appears to be close friends with – which featured a statement bow and cut-out back.

Prince Harry’s wife, 42, donned the ensemble for the Royal Salute Polo Challenge. on Saturday, channeling the perfect expensive casual look, whereas her friend chose to wear it in September.

Abigail chose the outfit to celebrate designer Heidi’s anniversary with her husband Johnny Johnston.

Abigail gained weight Instagram to share a snap of herself in the stylish look – which she teamed with a laid-back denim jacket and black handbag.

‘On “the land”,’ she captioned the post, which featured a gallery of photos from the festivities in Ojai, California. ‘Congratulations on the anniversary Heidi & Johnny.’

Heidi also took to her social media this week to thank the Duchess for supporting her brand, writing that she ‘simply glowed’ in the dress.

The royal, who has worn the designer before, paired the flowy white sundress with a £2,650 Maison Valentino bag.

To add to her height, the Duchess added a pair of £565 pairs of Aquazzura ‘Purist 105’ Nude Nappa Leather Pumps.

To finish off the look, Meghan accessorized appropriately with £175 Heidi Merrick ‘Santa Barbara’ sunglasses, named after the city she and Harry live in with their two children.

To add a touch of glamor to the look, Meghan opted for a pair of vintage Chanel earrings, Princess Diana’s Cartier Gold Tank Française Watch, a £7,050 Cartier ‘Love’ Yellow Gold Bracelet, and her new favorite Ariel Gordon Diamond Hex Tennis Bracelet, believed to be a Valentine’s gift from Harry.

Meghan and Abigail are known to be longtime friends – as the actress, 42, made an emotional appearance in the Sussexes’ 2022 Netflix documentary.

In it, Abigail revealed that she was one of the first people to learn of Meghan’s then-secret relationship with Harry.

“It was 2016, Meghan and I met in New York,” she recalled.

‘We really enjoyed drinking tea and champagne at Bergdorf Goodman. We’d be like, “Let’s meet in the tea room at Bergdorf’s.”

“She’s like, ‘Uh yeah, I think I met someone and I’m in love.’ It’s Prince Harry.”

Like several of Meghan’s other friends featured in the Netflix show, Abigail was full of excitement about the earliest stages of their relationship.

“I could just feel everything in her body vibrating,” she shared. ‘We have a picture from that moment. I screamed because I could tell it was different.

‘It was very clear from the moment she told me about him that they were in love and that they would go to the ends of the earth to be together.’

However, Abigail was also quick to make it clear how much Meghan had sacrificed to make her relationship with Harry work, especially under the public glare.

“She had a whole life before she met H,” she said.

Abigail had a recurring role as Dana ‘Scottie’ Scott, Gabriel Macht’s character’s rival, in the legal drama Suits.

After starting her career on All My Children in 1998, she has since had recurring roles on Grey’s Anatomy, A Beautiful Now, This Is Where I Leave You and the crime thriller The Forger following her departure from Suits.

She also received critical acclaim for starring as Amantha Holden in the Sundance Channel original drama series Rectify.

Spencer recently joined the cast of the comedy series Extended Family as Julia – who recently went through a divorce from her partner, Jim.

While Meghan invited all of her Suits co-stars to her royal wedding, it seems that Abigail holds a special place in the Duchess’s heart, having met long before the show for an audition, over a decade before the event.

The pair bonded during filming, and Abigail even contributed to Tig, Meghan’s since-defunct lifestyle blog, and attended her February 2019 baby shower.

The American actress married Andrew Pruett in 2004, but the couple divorced in February 2012 – together they share a son, Roman Pruett, born in 2008.

Last month, Abigail also showed off her impeccable sense of styles she leads the stars arriving at the premiere of Apple’s Never Fall in Los Angeles.

The star dazzled in a strapless pink dress covered in black dots and embellished with fabric roses at the waist.

Limited series Apples Never Fall is based on the bestseller of the same name by Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty.

The seven-episode mystery drama is about how a mysterious young woman changes the quiet life of recently retired couple Stan and Joy Delaney, played by Sam and Annette.

Things turn creepy when Joy goes missing, prompting the couple’s four grown children to begin investigating their parents’ seemingly ‘perfect’ marriage and discover some very disturbing secrets.

The cast also includes former Mad Men actress Alison Brie as well as Jeanine Serralles and Dylan Thuraisingham.
