Bluey fans left in tears by heartwarming hidden details as series three finale trends on social media: ‘Why am I crying over a children’s show?’

Bluey fans around the world have been tuning in to the series three finale and sharing their emotional reactions.

The children’s show debuted its first 28-minute episode, titled The Sign, on Sunday to mark the end of season three before going on an extended hiatus.

24 hours after the show landed on Disney+ in the UK, it was trending on social media with parents admitting they cried more than their children at the emotional ending and some blink-and-you’ll-miss-it details.

Fans were left in shock last week when the family put their fictional home up for sale in the show’s penultimate three episode Ghost Basket, with many worried it signaled the end of the cartoon.

And The Sign, which had been billed as the episode that would ‘change the popular Heeler family forever’, left viewers in tears when it was revealed that Bluey, her little sister Bingo and their parents Bandit and Chilli moved away after that Bandit landed a new job.

The episode focused on the family’s final days in their house in Brisbane as they hosted the wedding of Bandit’s brother Rad and Bluey’s ‘fairy godmother’ Frisky.

But the wedding was not without problems as Chilli, Bluey, Bingo and their cousins had to search for an upset Frisky who had doubts.

The emotional blow came at the end of the episode when Chilli broke the news to Bingo that the sale of their home meant they had to leave.

Their empty rooms were shown before the twist was revealed – their buyers had pulled out of the sale and Bandit had made the decision for the family to stay put.

Parents admitted they were in tears at the relatable message about choosing what’s best for your family, tweeting: ‘This was such a beautiful episode. The ending made me sob. Absolutely brilliant. The message and the way it all played out… just perfect.’

Other emotional fans wrote: ‘why am I crying over a children’s show’; ‘We just watched the most current episode of Bluey. It came out today and my daughter has been so excited. All 3 of us were left crying. It’s a cartoon for kids and we’re emotional.’; ‘Just finished that and Holy Moly, best Bluey episode ever. I’m in tears right now. This episode was honestly TOO relatable’; ‘My 7 year old son and 13 year old daughter asked me to wake them up at 5am to see #BlueyTheSign together before I went to the airport to go to a conference. So I did and I sat there with them, snuggled up with me and watched it and wow all the emotions caused by a silly cartoon;’ ‘Made my grown ass cry, the kids don’t get it’.

Other hidden details or Easter eggs left viewers in tears, especially when a brief scene saw Chilli’s sister Brandy with a baby bump.

In the previous episode Onesies, the series tackled the topic of infertility when it was revealed that Brandy was unable to have a baby of her own and had therefore distanced herself from her sister’s family.

But The Sign saw a pregnant Brandy happily greeted by Chilli at the wedding.
