Bondi stabbing victim Ashlee Good’s family break their silence – giving major update on baby girl who was stabbed

The family of 38-year-old Ashlee Good released a statement on Sunday after the mother was fatally stabbed at Bondi Junction on Saturday.

“Today we mourn the terrible loss of Ashlee, a beautiful mother, daughter, sister, partner, friend, outstanding human being and so much more,” it read.

‘We appreciate the well wishes and thoughts from members of the Australian public who have expressed an outpouring of love for Ashlee and our baby girl.’

Mrs Good’s nine-month-old girl was also stabbed and remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

“We are so grateful for the expert care and attention provided by the medical team at Sydney Children’s Hospital,” the statement read.

‘We would also like to thank the New South Wales Police for their kindness and diligence in this tragedy and emergency services for getting our baby the care she needed as quickly as possible.

‘To the two men who held and looked after our baby when Ashlee couldn’t – words cannot express our gratitude.’

Chilling details have emerged about what happened the moment Dr. Good and her baby were attacked.

Just before 5pm, a witness interrupted a Nine News reporter’s live cross from the scene and pointed to his brother, saying: ‘He’s a hero – he saved the baby.’

The visibly shaken man said he used clothes from a store to try to stem the baby’s bleeding.

“The child was stabbed and yes, the mother was stabbed,” he said. ‘The mother came over with the child and threw it at me.

“I was just helping by holding the baby… and trying to compress the baby.”

The two brothers stayed with their mother while they waited for emergency help.

‘(It was) very bad… a lot of blood on the floor… hope the child is ok,’ said the other brother.

Another witness, a mall worker, recalled seeing a mother screaming on the level above.

“I see a mother and maybe her partner with a baby in a pram,” she told Nine News.

‘She screams really, really loud. She runs back and forth not knowing what to do.

“Then she comes back to the pram and picks up her baby, and there’s just blood all over her back.

‘The scream was unforgettable, it was the scariest thing I’ve ever seen.

‘My colleague took me, we locked all the doors, had to turn off all the lights and doors’.

Heartbreaking images from the scene showed the baby being taken away in an ambulance.

Just 12 weeks after her baby girl was born, Dr Good posted a heartfelt message to social media about being a mum.

“It’s almost too much to put into words,” she wrote.

‘The love. The happiness. The fears. The new world. The new me; one that I am still discovering as I begin motherhood and complete the so-called fourth trimester.

‘It’s like experiencing your heart swell with love as you navigate anxiety for the first time.

‘Feeling so proud and so overwhelmed. The dichotomy of it all.

‘Sheer joy and extraordinary exhaustion mixed with emotions you’ve never felt before.’

She went on to say that being a parent is ‘the most uniquely beautiful gift you can ever receive’.

She added: ‘As I sit here feeling so deeply grateful and still pinching myself, she is ours.

‘I love her so much.’
