Bruce Lehrmann got a room in my house. I wanted to help a mate – but it’s ruined my life: Housemate breaks her silence after accused rapist’s three days of wild partying

Bruce Lehrmann’s new housemate says he let the former Liberal staffer stay to help a mate, but now ‘it’s basically ruined my life’ – as the wild party rages on for a third day.

Sir. Lehrmann was forced to move out of his $2,000-a-week property in Sydney’s northern beaches last week when his deal with Channel Seven for exclusive interviews in exchange for a year’s accommodation ended.

With nowhere to go and more court appearances on the horizon, his mate Paul had a spare room in North Sydney and decided to help – apparently not realizing that media photographers would focus on capturing Mr Lehrmann’s parties at night.

Groups of women have been seen arriving at the home every day for the past three days.

Outside the home on Thursday, Paul told TheWSTNews Australia he had second thoughts about the situation.

“I’m renting this place and had a spare room so I thought I’d help a mate out,” he said.

‘But it’s basically ruined my life with all the photographers and journalists hanging around.’

When asked if a sweet smell wafting from the home was from fumes, he said: ‘Yes, probably.’

Paul later came out of the home and met up with a young woman with a face tattoo and fresh fumes in tow.

Before that, a male friend had arrived with a case of alcohol, there were two trips to the bottle shop, and the group accepted a delivery from Taco Bell.

Neighbors were frustrated by the noise on Thursday, claiming Mr Lehrmann’s mates had been ‘screaming’ the lyrics to Tina Turner songs, the band all the time and talking outside into the early hours of the morning.

“It’s not loud music, it’s mostly carry-on with the girls screaming and screaming along to Tina Turner,” a neighbor said.

‘They swear constantly, it’s ‘f-this’ and ‘f-that’.’

Another neighbor accused guests of parking on the footpath and across driveways, which they said ‘is selfish for parents pushing prams’.

“It’s quite urgent because they already have a double garage to park in,” they said.

Sir. Lehrmann’s week of celebration kicked off on Tuesday night when he was spotted outside his home in a burgundy blazer, flanked by two glamorous women, – just moments after a new sentencing date in his grand defamation case was set.

The trio stormed through the rain and jumped into the back of an Uber, one holding a can of alcohol.

The party continued on Wednesday when another group of women entered the same property – among them a blonde who earlier turned up barefoot with a steam on the balcony of her old place in Balgowlah.

On Wednesday, she wore a black dress with a thigh-high split and black stiletto heels as she juggled car keys, a phone, a bottle of Hendricks gin and a half-drunk bottle of whiskey.

And on Thursday, shortly after noon, another group entered the home with boxes of alcohol.

TheWSTNews Australia understands most of the visitors on Thursday were Paul’s friends and that, despite the celebrations, the property has never received a noise complaint.

Lehrmann has been contacted for comment.

In just four days, Federal Judge Michael Lee will hand down his judgment in Mr Lehrmann’s defamation suit against Network Ten and Lisa Wilkinson.

He launched a defamation suit over a February 2021 episode of The Project in which Brittany Higgins first went public with her rape allegations in an interview with Wilkinson.

Ms Higgins alleged Mr Lehrmann raped her in the Houses of Parliament in March 2019 when they were both staffers working for the Liberal Party.

He was not named in the broadcast but claimed that friends and colleagues were able to identify him as the alleged rapist. He has always maintained his innocence.

The month-long trial was heard in December. Judgment will be handed down on Monday at 10.15am.
