Footy star offers Taylor Swift tickets to fans in priceless opportunity – but all is not as it seems

  • Sarah Hosking drove Taylor Swift fans crazy
  • She said she had four tickets to the MCG.
  • But everything was not as it seemed

AFLW star Sarah Hosking has sparked a Taylor Swift frenzy after offering fans the chance to snap up tickets to the superstar’s sold-out show at the MCG.

Swift’s fans, known as “Swifties”, are desperate to get tickets to the pop star’s shows in Australia with just two months left before she lands on the next leg of her world tour.

It’s no surprise that when Richmond star Hosking told her 25,000 followers she was selling four tickets to Swift’s Melbourne concert, fans went wild.

“Selling 4 tickets to Tai Tai,” Hosking wrote.

“Just call or write—no personal messages, please.”

Ruby Schleicher was not impressed by the stunt.

Sarah Hosking said she was selling four tickets to Swift’s MCG concert.

But the offer was too good to be true. The phone number given in the message did not belong to Hosking, but rather to soccer star Ruby Schleicher, who had no tickets for sale.

Schleicher posted a screen recording – with Swift’s song Karma in the background – showing dozens and dozens of messages asking Sarah for tickets.

“Everyone, please stop texting and calling me asking for T.Swift tickets!” Schleicher wrote.

“Sarah, you are the worst person. Karma will come to you very soon.

Hosking, who previously recorded a podcast with Schleicher, only saw the funny side of the episode.

“I’m a bastard and I know it. Sorry everyone in advance,” she wrote.

Hosking and Schleicher aren’t the only soccer stars to take part in Swift’s madness. Collingwood hero Mason Cox has issued an “apology” to any fans forced to sit behind his 211cm frame at the MCG.

“I want to sincerely apologize in advance for whoever behind me had tickets to the Taylor Swift concert,” said the American-born Soroka, who is 211cm tall.

“I know you paid a lot, but I don’t care.” T Swift is more important.”

Meanwhile, coach Hawthorn said he was under pressure to secure tickets for his daughters and shamelessly made an appeal for help on SEN radio.

“I think most of my week has been spent trying to get Taylor Swift tickets for my 12-year-old daughters, because if I let them down, I’m absolutely out of luck at this point,” he said.
