Heartbreak As Missing Girl Amy Pike, 28, Is Found Dead In Bushland North Of Darwin Two Days After She Was Last Seen

The body of a young woman last seen this weekend has been discovered in dense bush not far from where she was last seen.

Amy Pike, 28, was reported missing on Sunday after she was last seen in the suburb of Gray, Palmerston, 20km east of Darwin, at 4pm on Saturday.

Police found Ms Pike’s body in bushland near Gunn Point, 50km north of Gray, at 6.30pm on Monday after her car was seen parked in the area.

Friends and family searched desperately for Ms Pike during the time she was missing and her partner even asked if he could borrow $1,500 to travel along the highway to help.

Since police confirmed the worst, tributes have been steadily pouring in for the young woman who will be remembered as ‘a joker with a heart of gold and a dreamer’.

Tributes have poured in from heartbroken friends and family who have paid tribute to the ‘prankster with a heart of gold’

Ms Pike’s sister wrote an emotional tribute to “our daughter, sister, aunt and friend” and thanked everyone who helped find her.

“We are all heartbroken and completely lost since we received the news,” she wrote.

“May you fly among the galaxies and watch over us forever. We will miss you more than you will ever know.”

Police initially hoped Ms Pike had traveled spontaneously to visit family in Ipswich, Queensland, when relatives asked her to come home via Facebook.

Ms Pike’s partner had been trying to arrange a trip to reach the Northern Territory before hearing about the tragic news.

“I am now forever broken, just a shell of a man I once was,” he wrote.

‘I love you with every part of me. Until I see you again, darling.”

A friend of Ms Pike also shared a touching story of how she found a Polaroid of the two unknowingly placed in her bag.

‘My cousin took a coin from my wallet and he said, ‘huh, you must love her very much if she’s in your wallet.’ I was confused until I saw it [the] photo,” she wrote.

“I then found one in my bag, in my paperwork, in my laptop bag.

‘Rest in peace. I hope I never stop finding hidden photos.’
