Heartwarming moment Prince William surprises woman on the street during charity walk in memory of her daughter, 16, who took her own life
It’s the touching moment Prince William surprised a woman during a charity walk in memory of her late daughter.
In a video posted on FacebookEmma Webb can be seen in complete shock when the Prince of Wales appears out of nowhere to join her on day 13 of a fundraising trek from Wales to London.
Ms Webb, who lost her daughter Brodie – a promising equestrian – aged 16 to suicide in March 2020, wants to raise awareness of mental health among young people.
Dragging a life-size horse statue along the pavement near Slough – and oblivious to the presence of the future king behind it – the prince casually approaches it before embracing it in a warm embrace.
On her Facebook page, a stunned Emma wrote: “So on day 13 this happened. How very, very kind and supportive. Keep an eye out for the biggest surprise.”

Surprising the stunned Emma, the prince reached out for a hug.
Brodie Webb (pictured) took her own life aged 16 after taking up horse riding in March 2020.
The video opens with a clip of Ms Webb and a group of friends standing on a busy street, ready to take photos to mark the 13th day of their fundraising walk.
One of her friends opens an umbrella when the weather turns bad. Oddly enough, the large mobile horse, taken along for the ride because Brodie was an avid rider, was the only one to benefit from the cover of the umbrella as a friend placed it on the figure’s head.
While the women looked engrossed in the photo shoot, the man quickens his pace and approaches his entourage.
Dressed in a khaki jacket, smart blue trousers and brown leather lace-up shoes, it’s clear that Prince William is a man of mystery.
The Prince immediately stands in front of Emma to get her attention.
Stunned and filled with disbelief, Mom pauses for a moment before cupping her face and letting out an ear-splitting scream.
The prince seems happy to support Emma’s initiative and immediately steps forward to give her a heartfelt hug as her friends cry out in shock.
Brodie, 16, was a promising rider whose GCSE predictions were all star-studded.
The Prince of Wales seemed to appear out of nowhere to join her on the 13th day of the fundraising trek from Wales to London.
Emma also brought along a life-size horse in honor of her equestrian-loving daughter Brodie.
The Prince of Wales also shook hands and introduced himself to Emma’s friends.
“You surprised me,” she finally blurts out, clearly still in disbelief. William then shakes hands and introduces himself to Emma’s friends.
The group exchanges pleasantries as they stand on the sidewalk as curious passersby watch in amazement.
Emma had so far raised £30,000 for the trip for her daughter, who was a rising star in the showjumping world, with A-star predictions for her GCSEs. She disappeared into the local forest and ended her short life.
The group continued to exchange pleasantries as they stood on the sidewalk as curious passersby watched in amazement.
Emma had a hard time coming to terms with the loss, but has since vowed to keep her only child’s memory alive by raising awareness through events such as this walk.
Emma said her daughter showed no signs that she was going to kill herself.
Aside from difficulties making friends at school, there were no warning signs that Brodie would take his own life, according to the memorial and charity website Do It For Brodie.
Speaking about the loss of her “beautiful and talented daughter”, Emma said: “I’m a mother but I don’t have a child right now. I have all this love and I have nowhere to put it.
“So I tried to channel that into helping other people’s children so that what happened to Brody never happened to them.”
