With spring in full bloom, many Brits will be revamping their outdoor space to ensure it’s in tip-top shape when summer rolls around.
But depending on how your garden looks now, getting it looking perfect in just a few months can be an expensive affair.
A savvy mum-of-three has revealed how she completely transformed her garden using just one thing – a tin of beige paint.
Kerry Branchflower, from Essex, posts regularly on Instagram under the handle @sunnysideofourstreetwhere she showcases the renovation of her home to her 15,600 followers.
But when it comes to outdoor renovations, the British mum admitted she’s no expert, so she wanted an easy way to ‘inject some life’ into her garden.

She said: ‘I love spending time in my garden but it’s starting to feel a bit sad lately.
‘I’m definitely more of an interiors person than a gardener, so I was looking for a quick way to inject some life into the space. Turns out all it took was a can of beige paint to completely revamp the area!
‘I only used one can of Sadolin Superdec for my fence, shed and wooden picnic bench and the garden is now unrecognizable.
‘I went for a neutral beige shade which has made the room feel so much brighter and has brought cohesion across all areas of the garden.’
Prices for Sadolin Superdec from The Paint Shed start at £22.80 for a liter – cheaper than replacing all the furniture.
Kerry used the multi-surface beige garden paint for her fence, shed and wooden picnic bench, tying everything together and brightening up her outdoor space.
She explained: ‘I wanted to use the same color screen for the shed, the gate and the picnic table.
‘I first rough sanded the shed panels and then was methodical with the painting, covering one horizontal panel at a time.

“The fence panels were more difficult to paint but luckily due to the type of paint I used they didn’t need a separate primer. I also used a Prodec Shed and Fence Brush which made the job even quicker.
‘The picnic table was weather damaged so it needed a lot of prep work before it could be painted.
‘My tip here is to go on holiday, have your parents-in-law sit for you, and ask your father-in-law to sand it down so it’s ready to paint when you get back; that’s what i did and it worked a treat!’
Kerry chose the neutral color to make her garden more coordinated with her home.
“I used to paint our home in bright, vibrant colors with furniture to match, but over the past few years my tastes have changed and I’ve gone for a more neutral palette,” she admitted.
‘I also wanted it in the garden to make our whole home more cohesive.’
Other DIY-lovers were impressed by the glowing transformation, with one user commenting on Instagram: ‘It looks great’ and another adding: ‘Wow fab, fab, fab’ along with a fire emoji.
A third wrote: ‘You always have the best transformations’, with a fifth penning: ‘Love the color you’ve chosen.’
