An I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! has expressed concern over host Robert Irwin’s decision to bring his protective mother Terri on stage.
Terri, 59, has accompanied her son, 20, on his trip to South Africa as he films his debut season of the hit Channel 10 show with co-host Julia Morris, 55.
Speaking exclusively to TheWSTNews Australia, an anonymous producer has admitted that Terri’s presence on set every day is ‘a bit creepy’, saying: ‘It gives off ‘bring your mum to school camp vibes’.
Terri, who has managed Robert and his older sister Bindi’s showbiz careers since their father Steve’s death in 2006, has apparently kept a close eye on everything Robert does while working on the show.
“The two of them have a great relationship and Terri couldn’t be better, but there aren’t many situations where employees want their mom to work with them just to make sure everything is above board,” the insider said.

Comparing Terri to the Kardashians’ famous ‘momager’ Kris Jenner, the producer claimed that Robert Irwin’s contract even included a clause allowing him to bring his family on set.
‘The deal was made when Robert signed on as host at the end of last year. He wanted his family to come with him,” they claimed, adding: “Maybe it’ll just be for this series, but maybe Terri will always be in the background. Who knows’.
Robert previously confirmed that the entire Irwin clan would join him in South Africa and told Daily Telegraph in January: ‘I’ve got everyone, including my little niece Grace, to come over so the whole family is there’.

While Terri is said to be ‘in her element’ as she watches Robert win over the audience on the show, the producer casts some doubt on the zookeeper’s protective attitude – especially when it comes to her son’s dating life.
Robert recently split from boyfriend Rockey Buckey after almost two years of dating, with reports claiming that Terri’s opinions on the relationship may have contributed to the breakup.
“The rumor on set is that Robert has been withholding information from his mother about his dating life, which is pretty standard for most 20-year-old boys,” the source said, claiming that “cracks will continue to appear” if Terri continues with getting involved in his love life.

It comes after reports emerged claiming Bindi has urged Terri to let Robert ‘live his life’ following his split with Rorie in February.
According to women’s dayBindi has rallied to support her brother as he navigates the breakup himself, and is said to have ‘unbreakable loyalty’ to him.
Apparently Robert didn’t want Terri involved in his relationship or breakup with Rorie because he wanted to find out for himself.

A source told the publication: ‘Robert has very much become his own person and although he has always been strongly supported by his mum Terri and Bindi, he was adamant to Rorie from the start that he would not be influenced by anyone.
‘Robert didn’t want Terri involved from the start, but not in a bad way – he wanted to find out for himself if Rorie was The One and has shared with friends that he finally feels like he’s kicking big goals when it comes to figure out life all on your own.’
They added: ‘Bindi supported Robert knowing what she had been through years earlier when she first dated Chandler and would have told her mother to let him live his life and trust that if he needs them, will he reach out, and that goes for breakups too – he has to deal with it in his own way.’
