Kate Middleton has demonstrated her ‘fitness to be a Queen’ with her cheerful public appearances amid Omid Scobie race row, experts tell PALACE CONFIDENTIAL

The Princess of Wales has proven she is cut out for the “difficult and awkward” royal life with her eloquent handling of this week’s events – despite the royal row following the release of Omid Scobie’s book, experts at Palace Confidential have said.

Daily Mail diary editor Richard Eden said Kate’s calm and confidence during a series of public appearances this week, including a diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace and the Royal Variety Show, demonstrated her “fitness to be queen.”

Her coolness comes after King Charles and Kate Middleton were named as members of the royal family who allegedly made comments about the color of Prince Archie’s skin in the Dutch translation of Scobie’s new book Endgame.

Royal editor Rebecca English noted that this is not the first time the Princess of Wales has shown courage in the face of unrest. In 2012, French magazine Closer published photographs of the then Duchess of Cambridge sunbathing in the south of France in 2012, but her reaction was stoic and professional.

Spending time with the royals in Malaysia on the day the media storm began, Rebecca found Kate to be “cool as a cucumber” and “elegant and affable as ever” – although William, on the other hand, had his hand tensed anger.

Host Joe Alwyn asked Mr Eden about Omid Scobie’s constant reference to the Princess of Wales as “Katy Keene” in Endgame – a character from the cult American comic book series Archie.

It turns out that Katy Keene is a famous character from the cult American comic book “Archie”. And, by pure coincidence, he is also Meghan’s favorite.

Indeed, just last year, the former actress used her podcast series Archetypes (RIP) to tell listeners about her love of comics. “I read a lot of Archie comics growing up,” she told Mindy Kaling. “I always wanted this ideal life, like a template.”

In the 1960s cartoon, later made into a television series starring Lucy Hale, Katie is the girl next door, fame-hungry and full of ambition, who eventually becomes a Broadway star.

Meghan, meanwhile, has made it clear that she sees herself more as Betty, the kind but gentle character from the Archie stories known for rescuing injured birds and helping the homeless.

“I’m smart, not pretty,” she told Kaling.

During the podcast, Mr Eden explained: “Omid Scobie, a Brit who grew up in Britain and would never have heard of the comic, suddenly heard the term. -Who could he have heard this from?

“I think he may have given away more than he wanted to say,” he added.

The podcast moved on to discuss the claim that Harry and Meghan were excluded from the social wedding of Harry’s childhood friend Hugh Grosvenor, while William and Kate were invited.

Hugh Grosvenor, Duke of Westminster and one of Britain’s richest men, is said to have wanted to invite the Sussexes but apparently decided against it to avoid clashes on his big day amid heightened tensions between the royals following the release of the Omid Scobie report . A new book.

According to The Sunday Times, he allegedly chose the Prince and Princess of Wales over the Sussexes to avoid awkward moments for King Charles and Queen Camilla during the wedding.

Speaking on the podcast, Rebecca explained the situation further: “I think this story is actually a great example of the ongoing divisions that are still playing out because of Harry and Meghan’s decision two or three years ago.”

“Over the weekend a story emerged… that Harry and Meghan were not invited to the wedding because William and Kate and Charles and Camilla would be attending the wedding.”

“It just shows how awkward the situation really is,” she added.

Richard Eden further explained that he believed Harry and Meghan were initially given a date card but were subsequently revoked, adding that the couple told the New York Post about their situation.

However, “the Duke of Westminster essentially had to choose a side, and it is clear which side he chose,” he said.

For Rebecca, the situation highlighted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s priorities.

“I’m amazed that we’ve heard such deafening silence on the big issue of the week, really serious allegations of racism, and there’s not a word from the Sussexes, but they feel they need to be informed about whether they got a save the date card or not.

“I have to say, this makes me sad,” Rebecca concluded.
