Megan Thee Stallion, Patricia Arquette and Busy Philipps lead pro-choice glamor at Planned Parenthood’s Spring Into Action Gala in NYC
Megan Thee Stallion, Patricia Arquette and Busy Philipps lead pro-choice glamor at Planned Parenthood of Greater New York’s Spring Into Action Gala — held at Cipriani South Street in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday.
Individual tickets were sold out and the tables cost between $10,000 and $250,000 to benefit the 107-year-old non-profit organization led by President Wendy Stark, which honored the 29-year-old hip-hop star.
Planned Parenthood has been under attack by Republican lawmakers ever since Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court in 2022.
Justices Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh all declared that Roe v. Wade was ‘precedent’ and ‘settled law’ while under oath during their confirmation hearings, but then immediately reversed it with Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas.
“Now you know it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t take a second to call these stupid a** men out,” Megan said during her 2022 Glastonbury Festival.
‘I mean, damn it. What else do you want? Texas is really embarrassing me right now, you all know it’s my home state. And I want it on the record that the motherly hot girls and the hot boys do not support these bulls*** that you all are fighting for. My body, my maternal choice!’
It’s been a week since the Arizona Supreme Court upheld a long-dormant law from 1864 (before its statehood) that bans nearly all abortions and threatens doctors with two to five years in prison for performing the procedure unless necessary to save her life.
In August 2022, Kansas voters rejected and defeated the anti-abortion Value Them Both Amendment, and just three months later Ohio voters overwhelmingly approved an amendment enshrining abortion rights in the state constitution.
Stallion (born Megan Pete) dressed her fit 5ft10in figure in an elegant black cocktail dress and matching heels selected by her stylist Zerina Akers.
The three-time Grammy winner’s longtime hairstylist Kellon Deryck cut her side-parted wavy mane.
Make-up artist Lauren Child fully contoured Megan’s complexion, including her nose and overlined red pout.
Stallion — who gets 24.2 million listeners a month on Spotify — has already sold out 13 shows of her 34-date Hot Girl Summer Tour, which kicks off May 14 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN alongside opening act Glorilla.
Patricia was also honored at the Planned Parenthood gala, taking the podium to give an acceptance speech.

The 56-year-old Oscar winner wore a sheer teal blouse under a red midi-sleeved wrap blazer, matching chiffon maxi skirt and a black silky purse selected by stylist Amanda Pham.
Arquette appeared to be the latest celebrity to jump on the trendy Ozempic bandwagon as her petite 5ft1in frame was considerably slimmer than the previous year.
While on stage, the High Desert producer-star revealed that her first job at age 15 was with Planned Parenthood, where she went to school to talk to teens about birth control methods (including abstinence), and she sometimes helped out nurses and doctors.
‘I loved that job so much I really didn’t know if I wanted to go into acting or be a midwife,’ gushed Patricia – who is also an equal pay activist.
‘And the only reason I chose acting was because I wanted to be brave and I thought it would be scarier. But I would have loved to be a midwife and Planned Parenthood showed me that.’
