Minnesota Vikings OK Wes Phillips was arrested for drunk driving Friday night but will still be with the team for Sunday’s road game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

According to the team ESPN reportsThe Vikings said: “Wes immediately notified the team of his arrest last night.

“We contacted the NFL this morning and after internal discussion we have decided that Wes will travel with the team to Las Vegas this afternoon.

“We will continue to gather information about the incident and will provide further comment at the appropriate time.”

ESPN Phillips is said to have posted $300 bail and set a first court appearance of Dec. 21.

His arrest occurred in suburban Minneapolis at 11:00 pm central time, records obtained by the publication show.

Phillips, 44, joined the Vikings in 2022 as one of head coach Kevin O’Connell’s first hires. The pair previously worked together on the Los Angeles Rams in 2020 and 2021.

Phillips is in his 17th season in the NFL, having previously played for Washington and Dallas, as well as the Vikings and Rams.

He is a third-generation NFL coach, the son of the great defensive coordinator Wade Phillips and grandson of the late Bam Phillips.

Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson is set to return against the Raiders after missing seven games with a hamstring injury.

Additionally, Maxx Crosby’s early release is questionable due to an ongoing knee injury. He had doubts heading into the week of the Kansas City Chiefs game and even went to the hospital, but played anyway.

Crosby was a limited participant in Friday’s practice and missed the previous two days.
