For the casual outing, the mother-of-one wore a pair of large brown sunglasses to protect her blue eyes from the sun, a purple Malibu sweatshirt, dark jeans and red loafers.

Although McLain, who turns 90 in April, needs a healthcare assistant these days, she doesn’t shy away from industry events or red carpets.

She was seen glowing on the red carpet at the October 19 event, where she looked as stylish as ever in a black blazer with floral embroidery, black pants and black flats.

With an extensive background in dance, McClain received the Lifetime Achievement Award during the ceremony, which was presented to her by 65-year-old actress Annette Bening.

They are actually sisters-in-law: Bening is married to McClain’s brother, 86-year-old fellow Hollywood star Warren Beatty.

After posing alone for photographers, she also snuggled up with Bening for another set of photos and again with Peter Levine, who appeared to be her date for the evening.

MacLaine’s screen career spans more than seven decades, winning her first Oscar in 1984 for her starring role in Tenderness.

Hoping to become a ballerina, MacLaine (née Shirley MacLean Beaty) began taking ballet classes when she was just three years old in 1937 to strengthen her weak ankles.
