Mother who hacked her baby to death with scissors moments after giving birth on a train is jailed for three years in Russia

A mother who gave birth to her baby in a train toilet and then hacked her infant son to death with a pair of scissors has been sentenced to three years in prison by Russian judges.
Judges in Moscow heard how a healthy baby boy was stabbed 44 times just seconds after he was born.
A 25-year-old man, whose name is not mentioned in local media, committed a brutal murder on the Lastochka intercity electric train, widely used throughout Russia.
Local media reported that the child’s body was found between the Andronovka and Nizhegorodskaya stations, which are located in the west of Moscow.
The investigation revealed that she stuffed a “stuff of paper” into the child’s mouth, “which prevented him from breathing freely.”

Local media reported that the child’s body was found between Andronovka and Nizhegorodskaya stations, both stations are located in the west of Moscow.
The footage shows the mother telling police how she committed the murder.

She was found guilty of killing her newborn boy eight months ago in April.
Judges said they took the mother’s emotional state into account when sentencing her to three years in prison.
Prosecutors said judges “took into account the gravity of the crime committed as well as the identity of the accused.”
Forensic experts told the court the baby was born perfectly healthy but died after being stabbed 44 times.
A statement from the Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor’s Office dated December 1 said: “The Lefortovo District Court of Moscow sentenced a woman for the murder of a newborn on a train.
“She was found guilty of committing a crime under Art. 106 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of a newborn child by a mother).
“The court found that a 25-year-old woman, being pregnant, while on a train traveling along the Moscow Central Circle, independently gave birth to a viable child.
“Deciding to kill the newborn, she stabbed him 44 times.
“Taking into account the gravity of the crime committed, as well as the personality of the defendant, the court sentenced her to imprisonment for a period of three years to be served in a general regime colony.
“The state prosecution in this case was supported by the assistant southwest transportation attorney.”
