Mom asked if she was guilty after the scandalous act in the supermarket.
Lani said she took three items from the “inconsiderate” woman’s grocery store in Coles to get back at her. Lani claimed the woman had $407 worth of items at the checkout counter when she only had two items.
At the time, Lani’s screaming toddler threw a “tantrum” but says the customer wouldn’t let her through the staffed checkout first.
“My husband still says, ‘You didn’t do it,’ but I’m all for it. She could have let me go first and stop the whining in my ear (from the baby),” she wrote on TikTok. video.
Lani claims a Coles shopper with $407 worth of groceries refused to let her through the checkout first, even though she only had two items. At that time, her baby was screaming and throwing a tantrum.
Lani stopped by Coles to pick up two ingredients for dinner and was holding her youngest son Hudson, who was “scratching and slapping” her.
She claimed that another woman with a cart full of groceries was “staring” at her.
“Obviously, Hudson’s squeal pissed her off, as it did me, but what can we do?” She said.
The self-checkout lanes weren’t working, so she had to stand in a checkout line with customers who had grocery carts.
Instead of letting Lani pass, the woman continued to put groceries on the counter, she said.
So she decided to take matters into her own hands.
“She wouldn’t let me approach her because of two little things. I’m a total evil bitch. “I took her eggs, bacon and butter that was at the end of the stack,” Lani said.
She explained how she took the items and hid them behind two of the groceries she was buying.
“I hope she comes home and doesn’t get eggs and bacon tomorrow for being an inconsiderate bitch.
“(The woman) literally looked at me like Hudson was the biggest germ in the world. Am I wrong?
To get back at the woman who “looked at her”, Lani took the customer’s butter, eggs and bacon. “I hope she comes home and doesn’t get eggs and bacon tomorrow for being an inconsiderate bitch,” Lani said.
“My husband still says, ‘You didn’t do it,’ but I’m all for it. She could have let me go first and stop whining in (baby’s) ear,” she captioned the TikTok video.
The two-minute video has been viewed more than 904,000 times and sparked debate among hundreds of people.
“For all those confused, it’s a very common tradition in Australia to let someone with two items go to the front of the queue,” one person commented.
“100 percent love it. It’s not hard to be a good person, good people get eggs and bacon!” another said.
“Absolutely golden. If I saw you struggling or even failing in even two subjects, I would insist you go before me…she’s going to have a dry break,” a third added.
“It’s so wrong, but so right. Great job,” someone else said.
But others disagreed and said that Lani should not have taken other people’s food.
“You’d be wrong but Coles usually have a line of 15 items or less,” one said.
‘You are not right. It is best to treat the mean ones with kindness. Like ask her if you can help her pick up groceries or something like that,” another added.
“It is polite to let someone carry a minimum amount of belongings ahead of them, but it is not necessary. If I’m lined up forever, I won’t let anyone in,” wrote another.
