Outrage over controversial list of “female privileges” drawn up by men’s rights activists – which claims women are “not expected to go to war” and are taken seriously if they report rape

An American woman has sparked a fierce debate online after coming across a ‘female privilege’ checklist on Reddit.

Cece who posts under the TikTok handle @dontcecemedecided to share the controversial list – which included ‘getting a lighter sentence for the same crime’ and winning custody of children in divorce cases – with his followers and arguing against each point.

The video has already been viewed by more than 320,000 people and has collected more than a thousand comments.

She told her followers: ‘Some men’s rights activists recently found my account and they want to talk about female privilege.

“Great, I went on over to their sub-Reddit and found this huge list of why I’m privileged – let’s look at it.”

She pulled up a screenshot of the Reddit post and proceeded to go over some of the points and make a case for them.

TikToker read: ‘On average I will get much later punishment for the same crime. There are many factors that go into sentencing and I can’t find clear data on this.

“Men commit more crime, more violent crime, they’re more likely to re-offend. I don’t know what to tell you.

‘Not everyone commits crime, but everyone has to go to work, so I’m more concerned about the gender pay gap or whatever.’

The second point is that: “PMS is usually considered a mitigating circumstance”.

Cece replied: ‘Go up to a grown woman and tell her you think she’s privileged because she gets her period. Go ahead, try it, good luck.’

She continued: ‘Number three, I’m not expected to go to war or even be drafted into the army. Neither are you, the draft hasn’t been used in 50 years.

‘And it was created by a man in the 19th century when the government was full of men because no woman had ever been elected and women couldn’t even vote.’

She went on to mark number six and number seven, which claim that women’s words carry ‘greater weight’ when it comes to sex-related crimes, including rape, as ‘bordering on delusional and offensive’.

The American continued to read: ‘Number eight, I can look at children for more than three seconds without fear of being labeled a pedophile.

‘Why do you have to look at children? Why is your concern labeled as a pedophile and not the safety of the children? Pedophiles can be a gender.

‘Number nine, I agree that the media needs to do a better job of handling abuse cases where the abuser is an adult woman and the victim is a teenager or teenage boy.

‘There are far too many headlines saying ‘the teacher had an affair with a student’, it’s disgusting. But according to rain.org, 88 percent of the time CSA is committed by a man, 9 percent of the time it is committed by a woman.’

She added: ‘And there are many, many reasons why a case won’t go to trial. Number 11 and 12 – If I get divorced, will I get custody or will I get alimony.

“Alimony is not a female privilege – anyone can have to pay alimony and anyone can get custody.

‘Yes, the courts tend to favor the woman, but they look at who is the primary carer who is responsible for most of the day-to-day responsibilities.

‘Number 13, there is much more fundraising for breast cancer research than for prostate or testicular cancer. They are cancer patients, none of them are privileged. Give them all as much money as they want.

‘Men can get breast cancer too, and it’s more common.’

Nearing the end, she continued: ‘Number 14, if I marry a rich man, I won’t have to work and people will say I’m successful. Gold diggers are made fun of all the time, what are you talking about?’

Number 15 on the Reddit list claims women are ‘always protected from FGM’, which Cece said is ‘just not true’.

She continues: ‘Number 20 – I can fight for my gender’s issues without fear of being labeled a whining sexist or a chauvinist pig. Feminists get made fun of too, what are you talking about?

’21, everyone from a young age is taught not to hit me. No one should hit anyone.

’22, because of accusations of sexism, many places now hire mostly or exclusively women. It is not true, you cannot discriminate on the basis of gender.’

After going through just half of the post, the comments were flooded with fellow women outraged by the divisive list.

One user asked, “Where are periods literally allowed to be an excuse?”

Another insisted: ‘Courts actually favor men in custody cases where custody is contested. Most women get custody because men don’t ask for it. ‘

Meanwhile, a third added: ‘These men need to ask themselves one simple question and that is ‘Who set up that system?”

Others chimed in with: “Female privilege” and then it’s just a bunch of patriarchal rules lol’ and “I don’t know about you ladies but I never got to use my period to get out of anything. Not even my first one, still had to go to school.’

Another noted: ‘Men’s rights activist is the most INSANE phrase I’ve ever heard’.

Another added: ‘Female privilege is just little lumps of rare reactions to a system created by men for men, while male privilege is ubiquitous and found in almost every aspect of life.’
