Owner of popular Sydney restaurant Cairo Takeaway tells ‘narcissistic’ Jewish ‘pigs’ to stay away from his venue in abusive Instagram rant that has divided customers

The owner of a popular Sydney restaurant has told narcissistic Zionist Jews to stay away from his establishment in an offensive Instagram post.

Cairo Takeaway owner Hesham El-Masri posted a rant against the Jew after he made comments about street artist Scotty Marsh.

Marsh recently painted a mural of a Palestinian flag on a raised fist as part of the #freePalestine movement outside the eatery located on the busy Enmore Road restaurant strip in the inner western suburb of Newtown.

In response to the comment, Mr. El-Masri wrote: “Cairo Restaurant does not want narcissistic Zionist pigs like you coming to our restaurant.

“People like you are not welcome here or anywhere, for that matter.” The walls are closing in on your type. Your narrative is becoming outdated. Back off!

The post also included a photo of two Palestinian children holding signs with the slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

The now deleted post has been shared among Jews in Australia and overseas, causing both concern and anger.

Mr El-Masri would not tell Daily Mail Australia details of the comment that sparked his ire, but he defended his comments, saying “the full context of my post and the larger issues facing the children of Gaza must be taken into account.”

He added that he believes the mainstream media “always favors the Israeli point of view” on Palestinian and Israeli issues.

Since the post was deleted, the restaurant’s Instagram page continues to rage on over the Middle East conflict that began Oct. 7 when Hamas killed Israeli festivalgoers near the Gaza Strip and took others hostage.

The exchanges between passionate pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian supporters resulted in fiery posts and impassioned political debates.

In particular, the debate is over whether the phrase “from the river to the sea” has ominous connotations about the “destruction” of the Jewish people.

One Jewish woman was criticized after writing about the post: “Imagine teaching children this kind of violence and hatred and imagine condoning it. This is violence.”

The woman, who had an Israeli flag as her Instagram image, wrote: “I am a mother and I teach my children to love all people, unlike Hamas.”

One person described her comments as: “Islamophobia is coming out… please continue to show your true colors, leave this act of peace and love.”

Two other pro-Palestinian supporters attacked the woman: one called Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu a “murderer,” the other told the woman, “Stfu!” and called her a “genocide supporter” and a “land thief.”

One of them then refuted the Jewish moniker “chosen people,” said Israel had stolen Palestinian land and food, and asked, “Should we all just drop dead for you?” Satan’s Chosen People!

The restaurant attempted to base the dispute on a historical overview of the region before the creation of the State of Israel in 1948.

But one pro-Israel poster at the restaurant warned: “Stop your nonsense.” Otherwise we will have to delete your comments.”

In one tense conversation, one man said, “I wonder what they teach children in Israel these days?” That you can commit genocide in self-defense?

Another replied. “They are taught to love. And human life is the most important thing. You must remember that if Israel lays down its arms, it will be destroyed within 24 hours.

“If the rest of the Middle East/Hamas lays down their arms, there will be immediate peace.”

One person who used the forum to personally criticize the restaurant wrote: “Now I know where NOT to eat next time I come to Enmore.” Makes the choice much easier.

– In any case, the food is second-rate. Much better Middle Eastern food elsewhere to be honest.

The poster mocked the restaurant’s analysis of the current situation, asking whether they realized that “Egypt hates Hamas more than Israel.”

The poster continued: “The only group of people capable of keeping your country safe from this nonsense is Israel.”

“Show some respect, instead of calling them ‘pigs’, actually get into cooking good food, not geopolitical analysis.”
