Prince Harry was ‘very much the star of his own glitzy show’ with a ‘puffed chest’ and ‘sure walk’ at Miami polo tournament, while Meghan ‘enjoyed him as sporting hero’, claims body language expert

Prince Harry was “very much the star of his own glitzy, machismo-tinged show” as he reigned supreme at a charity polo tournament yesterday, a body language expert has said.

While Harry was the focus of the day, the Duchess of Sussex, 42, didn’t seem to mind, casting admiring glances at her husband and sharing a very romantic celebratory kiss in front of the cameras.

Pictures showed a happy – but tired looking – Harry celebrating with his team-mates after the match and applauding his opponents before stepping up to receive his award from his wife.

The pair shared a kiss as Meghan presented the trophy, in a display that body language expert Judi James says shows the duchess is “enjoying (Harry) playing the sporting hero”.

But, as Judi explains, Harry was “very much the star of his own glitzy, machismo-infused show” at the tournament, adding that he “used a very traditional method of royal male peacocking to show his most confident and even his sexiest celebrity profile ‘.

She told MailOnline that Harry showed ‘signs of maximum confidence in a world he knows well and intends to share with the cameras’ in an upcoming Netflix series, with every moment captured by a film crew.

“His chest is puffed and spread, his stride is wide when he walks in front of his wife, and his ear-to-ear grin seems almost constant,” Judi added.

‘Meghan’s choice of killer heels suggests she won’t be stepping on any divots, but there are enough adoring glances thrown at Harry to suggest she enjoys him as a sporting hero.

‘The couple’s hand clasp is a celebrity gesture as he carries her protectively and when they show the lock on stage it looks very tight with white knuckles showing a mutual sense of closeness and support.’

Meghan and Harry arrived hand-in-hand at the Royal Salute Polo Challenge, to benefit Sentebale, with a camera crew in tow as they prepared to start filming their next Netflix special.

There are two series because to be launched by Harry and Meghan as part of their $100m (£80m) deal with the streaming giant – one likely to focus on cooking and lifestyle, and another with an emphasis on Harry’s polo experience.

One notable moment caught on camera was a romantic kiss between the Duke and Duchess, which Judi says brings back memories of King Charles and Princess Diana’s outings at the polo.

However, the body language expert says Meghan and Harry’s kiss is full of ‘love and affection’, if not without the ‘get a room’ passion of their 2018 kiss.

She said: ‘There are always memories of the fatal break in Charles and Diana’s marriage, illustrated by their own polo kisses over the years from shy and giggling to the moment Diana turned her head and a pained-looking Charles was left clutching his lips against her hair.

“Harry and Meghan’s kiss here, however, is a very mirrored ‘book end’ style PDA, with both facing inwards and both sets of hands on the cup.

“They may lack the ‘get a room’ passion of their kiss in 2018, but the love and affection is still evident as Harry leans in to plant a smiling kiss on his wife’s lips.

‘Both sets of cheeks are rounded and raised here, and their lips are pursed to signal a sense of fun and shared good humour.

“It’s a very sweet kiss, but the pleasure is still evident on both sides, while Meghan’s towering heels at least allow her to kiss on the same level here, creating an appearance of symmetry and equality.”

The Duchess of Sussex embraced the glorious sunshine in an elegant white dress which featured a pleated skirt design, halter neck top and a cut out waist, completing her look with glamorous sunglasses and a chain strap shoulder bag.

She risked potential disaster by wearing a pair of towering heels on the grassy terrain, but didn’t seem to mind as she and Harry made their way across the field surrounded by heavy security guards.

Meanwhile, Harry opted for a pair of cream trousers, a light gray jacket and a crisp blue shirt, while donning some tan slip-on shoes – before changing into his team kit and taking to the pitch for the match.

The pair were then seen walking onto the pitch surrounded by a crew of cameramen capturing their every move as they chatted with Harry’s teammates.

Harry and Meghan pulled up to the swish venue around 4.30pm local time, with a Netflix film crew in tow, shooting their every move for the couple’s upcoming series.

Cameras continued to roll as they hopped out of their white SUV with Harry’s Argentinian polo player pal Nacho Figueras and were led to the clubhouse by excited staff as the Duke prepared to go head-to-head in the charity match against the Argentine star.
