Republicans want kids under 14 to be fingerprinted at the southern border to END ‘use and abuse’ of children by traffickers

Republicans are pushing a new bill that would require children under 14 to be fingerprinted at the southern border in an effort to end the “use and abuse” of children by human traffickers.

Single male migrants “buy” children and take them across the border to make them appear like one family – so they can be processed faster than if they crossed the border on their own.

“We’re seeing these children literally constantly being used and abused because of President Biden’s open border policies,” Rep. Ashley Hinson told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview.

Unfortunately, traffickers and smugglers “fell into the trap” of children, she explained.

The PRINTS Act would require fingerprinting of migrants under 14 years of age. Allowing Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers to identify human trafficking victims would help stop some of these “heinous crimes,” said Hinson, R-Iowa.

In one week alone, the Tucson sector welcomed 17,500 migrants, a new record.

“We’re seeing these children literally constantly being taken advantage of and abused because of President Biden’s open borders policies,” Hinson told DailyMail.com.

“There is truly a humanitarian crisis on the southern border right now, and we need to give our border officials every tool possible,” Hinson continued.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tennessee, is pushing a companion bill in the Senate.

This comes after House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, subpoenaed the Secretary of Homeland Security (DHS). Alejandro Mayorkas allowed foreigners to enter the United States for information and documents about violent criminals.

The subpoena for the information comes after DHS blocked the committee’s requests for months.

Separately, Republican senators on Wednesday blocked President Biden’s request for $110 billion in aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan as the GOP pushes to include tighter security measures on the southern border.

Sen. Jim Risch, R-Idaho, told DailyMail.com that “political discussions” are ongoing about how to move forward with the safety package.

He said that while “each side” has different priorities, border issues are “top of mind” for Republicans.

The senator said aid to Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan is important moving forward and “we want to get that done” but “we need to worry about our southern border first.”

“The reason the whole package was not passed is because we did not come to an agreement on that part of the package,” he explained.

“We’re seeing these children literally constantly being taken advantage of and abused because of President Biden’s open borders policies,” Hinson told DailyMail.com.

“This has the highest priority for us — our border, our national security, our constituents.”

He continued: “No one ever said the democratic process was easy, smooth or beautiful. But we’ll get through this.

Hinson echoed Risch’s sentiments, saying there shouldn’t be any “vulnerabilities” at the border.

“That’s why we must fully secure our southern and northern border and give our agents the tools they need to do so.”
