Royal Family posts touching photobook of King Charles’ life on his 75th birthday – including a poignant shot with a young Harry in happier times

The royal family’s social media accounts paid tribute to King Charles on his 75th birthday, posting a photobook-style montage of images showing the monarch from his very first public appearance as a child to more recent times – and many key moments in between.

The 39-second clip was posted this morning on X by @RoyalFamily and takes the monarch back decades as he celebrates his milestone birthday, showing some of his life’s most important moments and more intimate photos of time spent with family members over the years.

The post featured two emojis, one shaped like a crown and the other shaped like a cake, along with the words “Wishing His Majesty the King a happy 75th birthday.”

There are images of the late queen, including one from 1948 when she first appeared in public with her first child. Charles is seen fast asleep in his royal christening gown in his mother’s arms.

Princes William and Harry also appear, although not together, with glimpses of happy scenes from their childhoods, including the moment when then-Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana introduced their second son to the world. at St Mary’s Hospital in London in September 1984.

There is also a photograph taken in November 1997 of the then Prince Charles with a young Prince Harry: father and son smiling together as they wrote their handprints on concrete during an official visit to South Africa.

Elsewhere, a photograph of Charles and Prince William from 1998 can also be seen on the slopes of the Swiss ski resort of Klosters, a longtime favorite of the royal family.

The king’s 75th birthday will be a working day for the monarch, marked with fireworks throughout the capital.

Charles and the Queen will launch the Coronation Food Project, which aims to bridge the gap between food waste and food needs.

He is expected to celebrate his milestone birthday privately with family and friends this evening.

At midday, the Royal Horse Artillery, named after Charles’ grandfather, King George VI, will fire a 41-gun salute from London’s Green Park.

An hour later, the Honorable Artillery Company will fire a 62-gun salute across Tower Wharf at the Tower of London – an additional 21 for the City of London.

Charles will also host a reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the work of nurses and midwives over the decades as part of celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the National Health Service.

Guests will include around 400 nurses and midwives, as well as England’s chief nursing officer Dame Ruth May and Amanda Pritchard, chief executive of NHS England.

Celebrations for the king’s birthday started early when he was guest of honor at a party held in the grounds of his Highgrove home in Gloucestershire on Monday.

Charles joined a host of people, from community stalwarts nominated by friends and family who also turned 75 this year, to representatives of organizations celebrating the same milestone, such as the NHS and members of the Windrush generation.

Famous faces at the event included celebrity chef Raymond Blanc, The Repair Shop host Jay Blades and singer Lee Jon from the 1980s band Imagination.

Charles Philip Arthur George was born on November 14, 1948 at Buckingham Palace.

After his birth – the first at the royal residence since 1886 – his father, the late Duke of Edinburgh, traveled to Caxton Hall to register the event.
