Sheppard was wearing a gray long-sleeved shirt and matching pants and appeared to have post-surgery drainage tubes connected to him, which help fluid drain and prevent infection.
The actor said he suffered a “widowmaker,” the deadliest type of cardiac arrest that occurs when the largest coronary artery, the LAD, is blocked.
He thanked his wife Sarah Louise Fudge for saving his life and said he felt “humbled” after the near-death experience.

– You won’t believe this! The father of three told his 1.7 million Instagram followers on Saturday.
“Yesterday I was going to a meeting when I passed out in the kitchen.
“Six major heart attacks and coming back from the dead four times later, I apparently had a 100 percent LAD blockage. Widowmaker.
“If it weren’t for my wife, @losangelesfiredepartment in Mulholland, and the incredible staff at @providencecalifornia St Joseph’s, I wouldn’t be writing this.
“My chances of survival were practically zero. I feel great. I reconciled myself again. Home tomorrow! #spnfamily.’
