Aussie travelers can earn more Qantas Frequent Flyer points when booking an Uber with one simple trick.

Riders can link their Uber and Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts in the Uber app and collect points by booking rides to and from the airport on their next trip.

One point for every $2 spent can be earned when you take Uber rides to and from 21 eligible airports around the country.

Uber users who book a Reserve trip up to 90 days before their trip will earn one Qantas Point for every $1 spent to or from eligible airports.

Those who don’t have an Uber account can sign up and link their Qantas Frequent Flyer to earn 1,000 points.

‘Qantas Points have the power to unlock incredible travel redemptions so it’s sad to hear so many Australians are missing out!’ she said.

‘The good news is that within a minute, Australians can set themselves up to earn points, while also getting the chance to win one million Qantas Points with a single hack.’

Another way to earn more Qantas points and get closer to booking your dream trip is to walk.

The Qantas Wellbeing app gives users points for reaching their daily step count as well as things like exercising and getting a good night’s sleep.

Finance and investment guru Queenie Tan said that while the program doesn’t pull in ‘heaps’ of points, it’s a great way to earn by doing ‘easy’ things and ensuring points don’t expire.

Frequent flyers have previously spotted the trick, saying the app is generous with points initially, but you’ll need to sign up for Qantas health insurance to keep the big rewards coming.

She downloaded the Qantas Wellbeing app and collected points by logging her sleep, steps, car checks and phone use.

‘I went to bed at the right time every night without checking my phone and earned 17 points. I hit my daily step count and earned 31 points,’ Queenie explained.

She also checked her car’s tire pressure and brakes, invited friends to join the app and recorded her blood pressure.

By the end of the week, Queenie had 624 extra Qantas points in her account.

“I think it’s a really good app if you want to earn points by doing easy everyday things and it’s also a good way to make sure your Qantas points don’t expire,” she said.

While the app can be used without signing up to Qantas health insurance, many said the rewards are greater for those who sign up to a plan after the 28-day trial period.

‘During the trial period you get more points. You must then take out insurance to get the full points. You’ll still get some points regardless, but for very little effort, and every point counts, plus it keeps the account active,” one flyer explained.

‘To maximize the Wellness app you also need Qantas health insurance. You get 10 times the points,’ said another.
