  • The actor said he wanted to “bring adults back into the room.”

Kevin Spacey has taken on the role of power-hungry politician Frank Underwood to criticize US policies and discuss his potential run for the White House.

In an interview with Channel X’s Tucker Carlson on Sunday, Spacey channeled his character in House of Cards and laid out his views on current election candidates, trigger warnings and outdated media.

Spacey, like Underwood, said: “This country is mired in controversy and confusion. We don’t even know how we can help someone because we can’t agree on who needs help.”

“I mean, what doesn’t come with a trigger warning these days? I mean, we’re too close to having a bean bag chair in the Oval Office. We pampered everyone.

Announcing his potential run for the White House, Spacey – as Underwood – says: “We need someone in the White House who isn’t afraid like I am.”

It’s a familiar role for Spacey, who played Underwood on the hit Netflix show for five years.

He was fired from Netflix in 2017 after multiple allegations of sexual harassment, including from fellow House of Cards cast members.

Last year, Spacey and his production companies were ordered to pay $31 million for losses incurred as a result of his dismissal.

He then went on trial in July on charges from four different men in the UK and was cleared of all criminal charges.

Discussing the allegations with Carlson, he said: “It’s strange that they decided to publicly sever ties with me based solely on allegations—allegations that have now been proven false—because I don’t think there’s any question: Netflix exists because of me.” .

“I put them on the map and they tried to bury me.”

Moving away from the accusations, Carlson and Tucker discussed Underwood’s potential run for president.

In character, Spacey said, “I think we both agree that we need to get some adults back in the room.” So if that means taking on the role of chief executive, well, that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make for this great nation.”

At one point, Spacey invited Carlson to become his second running mate.

Spacey added that he would need a candidate for vice president and asked if Carlson was ready for the job.

Carlson replied: “I’ll sleep on it.”

Discussing his views on social relations in the country, Spacey said: “Okay, do you think you’re a rabbit? This is fine.

– But let me tell you something. You sure as hell won’t see a man walking around my White House with bunny ears and a tail unless it’s Easter.”

When asked which party he would run for, Spacey replied that it would most likely be as an independent, saying: “I’ve always been an independent all my life, no matter what party I belong to, although at the moment I’m not quite aware of my old party.

Expressing his opinion of the current candidates, Spacey said: “I like Vivek. Drain Ramaswamy. And Nikki Haley is cool. She no doubt learned something from watching me.

“But I think at the end of the day, we need somebody in the White House who isn’t afraid, like I am, who isn’t afraid to push our country or a journalist in the right direction if it comes down to it.”
