Ukrainian dwarf Natalia Grace came face to face with her father, who accused her of being a “sociopath” for pretending to be a child as cameras caught a tense conversation between them.

Their meeting was captured in the newest documentary, Natalia Speaks, which examines the latest developments in the case.

Michael Barnett and his wife Christina said Natalia Grace lied about being a six-year-old Ukrainian orphan with a rare genetic disease who was adopted by a family. Instead, they say, she was A adult killer with intent to harm them and their children.

Natalia and Michael sat down at the feet as Natalia Grace Barnett angrily denied Michael’s claims.including that she once loomed over a couple while they slept, clutching a blade in her hands.

“I’ve never been in your room with a knife,” an annoyed Natalia Grace tells Barnett, resting her head in her hands.

“I know what I saw,” Michael replied.

This confrontation will be featured in a six-part documentary series called Natalia Speaks, airing January 1 at 9/8c on ID.

“This is my version of the story,” Natalia said about the series, adding: “Do I look like a monster to you?”

She also promises to answer some of the wild accusations made against her, including that she tried to kill her adoptive family.

“Every lie has a hidden truth, but you have to dig hard enough to see it,” she added. “They won’t get away with this.”

Natalia Gracie also claims she “lost her childhood” after the Barnetts asked a judge to change her legal age to 22.

The new documentary will feature never-before-seen evidence and footage, as well as new theories and testimony from a variety of voices, including retired FBI agents who originally investigated Natalya’s case, genetic experts who help determine Natalya’s true age, and a deputy district attorney. Tippecanoe. Jackie Starbuck, who accused Barnett in court in October 2022.

Barnetts were taken into custody in 2019 on child neglect charges after abandoning Natalia in an Indiana apartment when they moved to Canada after her age changed.

Natalia Grace Barnett was placed in an apartment in Lafayette, Indiana, by her adoptive parents Michael and Christina Barnett in 2011 after they suspected she was much older than she claimed.

Michael was cleared of charges in October, and Christina’s case was dismissed in March, just three weeks before trial.

Cynthia Mance, Natalia’s new adoptive mother, claims Michael “smirked” at her when he was found not guilty.

“It was like watching my daughter being raped,” Mance says in the documentary. “Justice was not served. If I could catch Christina in an alley and wear a black hoodie, I would smash her over the head.”

Natalia’s adoption saga has attracted global media attention in recent years amid a documentary and the arrests of her former adoptive parents.

Pair adopted Natalia in April 2010, believing they were taking home a six-year-old child.

But their dream of adoption quickly turned into a nightmare when they realized she might not be who she claimed and suspected she was a threatening adult masquerading as a child.

Just a year later, they left Natalia in an apartment in Lafayette, Indiana, while they fled north, claiming that she was trying to kill them.

“She tried to poison and kill my wife,” Michael said. “(And) one night I opened my eyes and saw Natalia standing at the foot of the bed with a knife in her hand.”

An orphan claims the Barnetts

An orphan claims the Barnetts “stole” her childhood after they officially changed her age.

Christina, who is accused of abusing Natalia in the acclaimed documentary, told DailyMail.com in 2019 that her family was terrorized by Ukrainians for months after they adopted her.

She claimed that Natalia threatened to stab family members in her sleep, pushed her against an electric fence and poured bleach in her coffee.

“She would make statements and draw pictures saying she wanted to kill family members, wrap them in a blanket and put them in the backyard,” she told DailyMailTV.

“She stood over people in the middle of the night. You couldn’t sleep. We had to hide all the sharp objects.

“I saw her putting chemicals in my coffee, bleach and something like that, and I asked her, ‘What are you doing?’ She said, “I’m trying to poison you.”

“The media portrays me as a violent child, but there is no child here,” Barnett said.

However, Natalya called her former adoptive parents “liars” and said they were trying to make her look “crazy.”

For their part, the Barnetts said they began to suspect their new daughter might be older than her age on one of the first nights they spent together.

Questions remain about Natalya’s true age after it was legally changed from eight to 22 in 2012.

They described one incident in which Christina let out a bloodcurdling scream while bathing a girl they thought was just six years old when she noticed she had “thick pubic hair.”

Months later, the couple said there had been a “serious escalation.” Among other things, it turned out that she hid her menstruation from them for months.

Another time, when Natalia met another six-year-old with a rare bone disease called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia, the stark age difference became seemingly undeniable.

Natalia, who did not speak with a Ukrainian accent, towered over her playmate, and her frame and vocabulary were much more developed.

As a result of these incidents, Natalia was taken to a psychiatrist, who, according to the couple, diagnosed her as a sociopath.

Numerous red flags prompted the family to contact a lawyer, and in 2012, the family’s petition to probate court was granted and a judge officially changed her date of birth from 2003 to 1989 on her Ukrainian birth document.

After the couple was granted the petition, they decided to move her to an apartment in Lafayette—three counties away from where they lived—while they moved to Canada.

Natalya would later testify in court that she ate mostly peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, ramen noodles and the occasional pizza. She said she didn’t use her hands much and had trouble opening cans.
