Aldi shopper reveals clever hack for beating the speedy checkout workers – but not everyone is impressed

Many people love German budget supermarket Aldi, but if there’s one thing that puts them off, it’s the speedy checkout staff who force you to pack your weekly shop in milliseconds.

British TikToker Cooking with Tubz uploaded a 32 second clip with a hack so you don’t feel like you’re trying to break a world record while shopping.

He showed his 32,000 followers how, instead of bagging groceries as they come off the line, he puts them in his cart as quickly as possible before heading to the nearest store. “packing shelf”

The dark gray window shelf allows him to take his time packing without feeling rushed, and some commenters admitted they’ve always wondered what the shelves were for.

However, fans were not very happy, with them urging their cashiers to slow down and some threatening to switch to Tesco or collect items even more slowly if staff rushed them.

An attentive client explained:Place your items on the conveyor belt directly into the cart, like this.

“And walk up to the packing shelf and pack your items into bags, which means you’ll make way for other shoppers faster and then get out the door.”

But it was his generosity that alienated Aldi fans, with many outraged that the budget supermarket couldn’t wait for them to pack their bags, although one suggested it was how they managed to employ fewer people.

One user fumed: “No, they can wait until I get my things,” while another asked: “Why should I do that?”

Cooking with Tubz said the trick makes you feel much more relaxed, but some commenters questioned why they were being forced to use the packing rack and urged cashiers to slow down.

Another joked: “Or go to Tesco and use the self-scan tool and save more time.”

And some people did not buy the Cooking with Tubz hack. One user decided to “open the bags in the cart and put things in there.”

Another user said: “My grandma used plastic boxes in her cart and then lifted them straight into the trunk.”

Similarly, another report was released: “We put all our shopping back in the cart and there are only 2 drawers in the trunk of the car to throw them in.” Saves time!’

Another added: “Alternatively, if your bags are ready, you can put things in bags.” Saves you time fiddling around on that shelf and doesn’t delay anyone.”

Others described how they store boxes in the trunk of their car and load purchases straight from the cart, without the need for bags.
