Meghan Markle pays a repeat visit to feminist climate change group in Vancouver to have a ‘heartfelt conversation’ about ‘women’s leadership and poverty in Canada’

Meghan Markle made a surprise visit to a feminist climate change group on Tuesday.

Duchess of SasseX, 42, attended the Justice for Girls group to discuss girls and young women’s leadership and have a “heart-warming conversation” about “justice and equality for teenage girls living in poverty in Canada‘.

She first visited the group in January 2020, just days after she and Prince Harry sensationally announced their plans to leave the royal family.

Opting for the £1,349 Ralph Lauren Charmain silk wide trousers she previously wore to Wimbledon, a white jumper and £46 Edge of Ember ‘Wave’ earrings, the royal looked casual as she chatted with women at the charity event.

She added her favorite £7,050 yellow gold Cartier ‘Love’ bracelet, Princess Diana’s Gold Tank Française watch and the £15,000 Lorraine Schwartz ‘Against Evil Eye’ bracelet.

Keeping her hair sleek and straight, the former actress opted for low-key, natural makeup that paired black eyeliner and a creamy pink lip.

On Instagram after the visit, Justice for Girls wrote: “Justice for Girls was delighted to receive a return visit from Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

“Together with Jessica Lake and Lori Thompson of the Lake Family All One Foundation, we hosted a compelling and heartfelt conversation about justice and equality for teenage girls living in poverty in Canada and around the world.

“Together with our teen interns, staff, directors and board members, we talked about Justice for Girls’ decades of work advocating for girls’ access to education, freedom from violence, indigenous rights and environmental justice.

“The highlight of our conversation was the leadership of girls and young women.

“The Duchess, herself a feminist advocate from a young age, was keen to speak with two of our teenage trainees to discuss their personal struggles for justice.

“Her genuine and understanding approach made the girls feel heard, supported and inspired.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in Canada to work on promoting the next Invictus Games, which will be held in Vancouver and Whistler in February 2025.

Her appearance came as the Duchess cheered on Prince Harry as he scored the first goal at an NHL hockey game.

A California couple watched the Vancouver Canucks beat the San Jose Sharks 3-1 from the VIP box at Rogers Arena, at one point watching while hugging and then jumping in the air to support the goal.

When the Canucks won the game, Harry jumped up and Meghan set down her glass of wine so they could both dance to celebrate the victory to Simple Minds’ hit “Don’t You Forget About Me.”

Also with them was Marcus Anderson, a friend of Meghan’s from Toronto when she was filming Suits, who helped arrange her and Harry’s first date in London.

Harry’s ceremonial puck drop came 21 years after the late Queen did the same when the same teams played in 2002. She was on an 11-day tour of Canada in honor of her golden anniversary.

Their visit comes a week after a whistleblower told MailOnline the Games were in “turmoil” after two of its most senior executives were “sacked for no apparent reason” with just over a year remaining.

Megan has a long association with the Soho House property thanks to her long-standing friendship with Marcus Anderson, the club chain’s director of membership.

Mr. Anderson also attended a Canucks game and once stood next to the Duchess of Sussex to cheer on the team.

It was Anderson who organized a private room at Soho House in London for the Montecito couple’s first date, while Meghan hosted a low-key hen party before her 2018 wedding at Soho Farmhouse in Chipping Norton, UK.

He originally invited her to join Soho House while she was still a TV actress in Toronto, and it was Marcus who facilitated all of Harry and Meghan’s early dates in London and Oxfordshire.

Marcus is very good friends with New York fashion designer Misha Nonoo, who is said to have introduced Meghan and Harry to each other.

Both Marcus and Misha spent time with the royal newlyweds, staying with them for extended periods in the UK ahead of Megxit.

Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, took the ceremonial puck drop in a 2002 game, also between the Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks, during her two-week Golden Jubilee tour of Canada.

It was the first NHL game the Queen had attended since 1951, when, as a princess, she and Prince Philip watched the Montreal Canadiens take on the New York Rangers.

The Sussexes’ sports outing came just days after Meghan’s surprise arrival at Variety’s Power Of Women event in Los Angeles to celebrate the achievements of women in entertainment.

The former Suits actress said she is “excited” to be returning to the entertainment industry with Archewell Productions and is “really proud” of the projects they have produced so far, including the docuseries Harry & Meghan and Invictus Heart.

She also teased future projects, saying, “We have so many exciting things in the pipeline… I can’t wait until we can announce them, but I’m just really proud of what we’re creating.” My husband loves it too and it’s a lot of fun.”

Experts told MailOnline they believe the flurry of A-list appearances is a PR tactic aimed at finding lucrative work and creating new hype around Meghan and her husband.

The Invictus Games will be held in Vancouver and Whistler in February 2025 and will feature winter sports for the first time.
