Moreton Bay: ‘Legendary’ garbo is praised for his thoughtful act

“Legendary” A council worker has been praised for taking extra time to collect bins that local residents had not put up for collection.

Garbo was photographed on the street in Moreton Bay, north of Brisbane, emptying a bin before returning it to the property.

Residents quickly noticed the man’s thoughtful gesture and took to Facebook to thank him.

“(He) saw that the trash cans were outside the gate (and) not taken out, (he) bought them (and) emptied the yellow (container) and put it back,” one resident wrote.

“He’s amazing, he was on our street and I witnessed him forgetfully snatching bins off someone’s property,” another local said.

Another said he even picks up trash cans if they get knocked over after they’ve been collected.

Moreton Bay Council later confirmed that the kind acts of a friendly council worker were in fact part of a service offered to some residents.

“Around 20 per cent of people in Moreton Bay live with some form of disability and many parts of our city have a significant elderly population, so providing accessible infrastructure for everyone is something that is very close to my heart,” Mayor of Moreton -Beat. Peter Flannery said Yahoo.

“The City of Moreton Bay continues to be a welcoming place for people of all abilities to call home and feel welcome without discrimination.”

Garbage collection service is available to people with disabilities who do not live with another person who can remove the trash.

Currently, about 270 residents use the free service.
