Nestle confirms that it’s axed two popular sweet treats – after shoppers admitted they’d been hunting up and down the country for them

Nestlé has left customers devastated after it officially confirmed it had discontinued two of its favorite sweets.

The company recently confirmed to X, formerly known as Twitter, that they have stopped selling Polo Fruits and Polo Gummies in the UK.

One eagle-eyed fan wandered the supermarket aisles for a while before asking the food giant: “Are you still making fruit polo?” “I haven’t seen them anywhere in the south east of the UK for a long time, but I’ve been told they can still be found in places like Yorkshire.”

Nestlé responded: “Unfortunately, our Polo Fruits and Polo Gummies were not as popular as other products in the range and have been discontinued.

“But we will definitely let the team know that you would like them back.”

Another user asked: “Hey @NestleUKI, I haven’t been able to find mint polos in a while.”

“Please tell me you didn’t do to them what you did to the fruity ones and the jelly ones (short-lived, but I loved them)?”

User X was ready to be destroyed as Nestle responded: “Hi Ben, we’re so sorry you’re having trouble purchasing your Spearmint Polo.

“Inventory of a specific product is at the discretion of the retailer, so we advise you to check with the store when they will restock. We hope you can find them soon!”

The user did not give up and began looking for his favorite treat in other supermarkets.

And it turns out that another shopper faced the same problem, but in Cambridge, and noticed that his local supermarkets “don’t even have tickets for them on the shelves.”

It comes after Nestlé left shoppers mourning for the second day in a row after closing its Animal Bar after 60 years due to “poor performance”.

It joins the ranks of the fallen along with Caramac, which was also pulled from shelves due to poor sales.

Fans of the milk chocolate bar, which has been in the UK since 1963, are devastated, claiming the food and drink giant has “gone too far”.

A MailOnline spokesman said it was being “discontinued for the same reason as Caramac – a sustained decline in sales”.

Users on social media platform X – formerly known as Twitter – shared tributes to the candy bar, which featured two animals with different names on the surface and a game inside.

“Bar Animal has passed away,” read one solemn comment. “RIP, you will live forever. I can not believe it. I want to run to you. I really can’t believe it.

“I woke up to the news that Animal Bar was going away soon. It brings back sweet memories from my childhood and I don’t know of any other chocolate bar that cracks with the same delicious pleasure,” added a second.
