Prince William teases Kate as she struggles to bounce a ping-pong ball into a cup during visit to Scotland: ‘We’ll be here all day!’

This is the moment Prince William teased the Princess of Wales after she struggled to bounce a ping pong ball into a cup during their recent visit to Scotland.

The Prince of Wales, 41, was the first to try the challenge and immediately succeeded, with his wife joking: “You’ve done this before.”

But when Kate, also 41, wearing a tartan Burberry jacket, tried her hand at the game, the royal family found it a little more difficult.

After drinking a cup or two, her husband joked, “We’ll be here all day!” When the ball finally landed in the holder, Kate said to the watching children, “Finally.”

William and Kate, known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, visited DAY1, an Inverness-based Highland charity which provides mentoring, training, personal development and employment services to vulnerable young people, while in Scotland.

The charity aims to equip its young people with the social and emotional skills needed to succeed in life through mentoring and personal development programmes.

It allows participants to gain independence, self-confidence and helps them identify their own interests, giving them a clear direction in their lives.

The charity also owns and operates social enterprise Inverness Kart Raceway, which provides automotive skills training.

Kate and William are known for being competitive, with the royal couple recently discussing their competitive sides on an episode of The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast, hosted by Princess Anne’s son-in-law Mike Tindall.

During the discussion at Windsor Castle, the topic of rivalry was raised, and Kate and William were asked about the competition between them.

To which Kate said: “I’m really not that competitive, I don’t know where that comes from.”

She then joked that she and William never managed to finish playing tennis and explained, giggling, that “it’s becoming a mental challenge for the two of us.”

Mike then asked whether the couple’s three children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, showed signs of competition. Princess Anne intervened and said, “I would offer, just a little.”

Kate said: “The interesting thing is that they all have completely different temperaments.

“And as they grow and try different sports (obviously they are still very young), it will be interesting to see how they grow and develop.”
